Well I must say I was so excited about today. I went into work and got my perm done early. It turned out beautiful! No one else around, so I got to call it an early day.
When I arrived home from banking today after the perm I arrived home to a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Sent to me by my precious friend. Thank you so much Crystal for blessing beyond whatever I could dream. I will so enjoy them and their beauty.
My sister called last evening and had asked if I would like to spend the day with her. Well......of course I did. I didn't know that we were going to have such a late start. And so much fun! But I must say it was a wonderful day with her my niece, great nephew and my dear friend Kathrine. We were diffidently women on a mission to do some Christmas shopping. We headed to mall with shopping in mind and list in hand.
We had a wonderful lunch at Normstoms Cafe'. Then a shopping we went. Isnt it always funny how we always seem to find things for ourselves when shopping for others. But we managed to hold back the desire to purchase for self. Niece found a bed so ... guess what she got for Christmas? Yes a new bed! how exciting for her no more sleeping on her living room floor. Then we headed to go look at curtians for sisters home. JCPenneys it is. There she found some but of course they werent in stock. She will order on line instead. Saves more room for more packages to stuff the jeep full of loot. I did find a few gifts for David. She then it was time for coffee and re grouping so off to Shari's to go over list and checking it twice. Then off to the outlet mall. Much to cold and windy for that shopping adventure. So off and running we went to Kohls and there we found bundles of goods to fill the jeep to over flowing. Wondering where we where going to put all the packages along with ourselves loaded into the jeep. Might I add we had the baby sit and stroller inside the jeep as well. So the bundles of packages and the bags where running over. A good haul was made by all! All made it home safely and the sorting and wrapping begin!

Crisp cold days of the winter frost.
The hearth is burning its warm fires with family friends
and storys of old with love
Each moment measured out with the joy of the day and the upcoming events
A glimpse into the wintery seaon
That brings families together
The Roller Coaster of Daily Grind
Well you can say today was no ordinary day. But in my work world it is an ordinary day by my standards.
Didn't want to get up at all today because I played late last night with hubby neighbors and friends.
My youngest daughter help kick start my dad with her refreshing voice and her busy schedule for the day and weeks ahead as she prepares for finales. I'm so proud of her she is studying to be a nurse.
Then loaded the car and headed to the supply story for the products I would need later in the day do do some hair appointments. The lady at the supply house was a delight. I gave her one of my letters and business cards on adopt-A-Grandparent. She was excited and was looking forward to sharing with her associates. I'm looking forward to hearing back from her.
Then off to do some care giving. I always enjoy going to her house. Though I do know the routine by heart she always throws a little monkey wrench in the day to keep me on my toes. That way it is never dull and we get to have some variety in our lives. I so enjoy helping my friend and making her day a bit easier for her. Though I'm not really sure I really do that. Shopping was on the list of things to do. I enjoy shopping. Though it is the first of the month and December. So it makes it a bit more challenging to do shopping with all the first of the month payees and then the Christmas rush and sales! All in all it wasn't as bad as it can be there. I got through the line pretty fast. But... You will laugh. I set of the alarms when I come in and when I leave. I feel I should be at the airport the system is so sensitive. I'm always waiting on the baggie search and the paper receipt check out before you leave the store. So sad! When I was a kid there was not such a thing. It is a sad thing to see how the world has become so untrustworthy that they even have to worry about if you paid for an item. It seems my keys or phone or setting it off along with to much change in my purse. Okay so I need my keys and the change to be able to purchase the goods.
The phone...... well I guess I can live without it I did for year sand years and years. It is only in the last five to ten years that everyone must have a cell or there must be something wrong with you if you don't have one. I must admit I just got mine about three years ago. I really dint like the idea of coming into the 21st century. Really what was the need for someone to be able to contact me while I'm out. Nothing could possible be that important that it cannot wait until I get home. REALLY! But I did and I do have one. And yes! I do use it and I have found that it has its place of importance and that in an emery it is a great device to have.
Then off to my new adult foster care home to do a perm. The perm that never happened that is. Poor little thing could barely sit in her wheel chair. But we did mange to cute and curl her hair. It looked so nice and pretty when I was done. Then I also did two more hair cuts while I was there. Everyone was happy including me. When you go to do elder hair in these adult foster care you really don't know how well they are going to do. It is so hard on them. They so deserve to look and feel great about their appearance. I so pray and wish I was wealthy enough that I didn't have to charge. But that isn't the case. They each bring such joy into my life. I enjoy talking with them and encouraging. I will be going to this new home once a week. It will be nice for them to have someone come in and care for their personal hair needs.
Then off to next job! Some days when I'm running from job to job like this I wish I just had a regular nine to five But then I wouldn't have the pleasure of knowing and helping all these wonderful people who if they weren't here and paved the way before us we wouldn't be here.
So my next job is care giving once again. Pick up laundry and a small bit of picking up and very light housekeeping. A pleasant visit and time to be on the road again.
The great thing about today in all of my here and there trips I was able to help others with their needs that they wouldn't be able to do otherwise. I was able to pick up a few surprise Christmas gifts. That I must say I'm so very excited about.
I'm still working on a few projects this evening. I'm doing up laundry for a client. I'm working on a surprise for one of my granddaughters. That I'm praying will be able to be put together before the last school day before Christmas break. I have to mail it to her mom to help m with it, so that she can take it to school and they can present it to her on grandparents day. I so wish I could be there for her.
Not to mention I to get to my own household chores this evening. I'm thinking a calgon take me away moment is in the future sometime this evening. With some soothing music playing and a cup of hot tea and warm fuzzy night clothes and slippers. Sounds perfect to me with an early to bed with soft whisperings prayers to my Lord and a wonderful book to close the night.
"The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure."
-Deuteronomy 28:12
O Lord, let my life reflect the joy you have put into my heart, that your name may be glorified.
And today has been full of His good treasure. Thank you for sharing a bit of it with me by reading my blog! Blessings.

Practice Practice Practice!
Well today was a full day at the salon. Some cancellations, some of my lovely ladies are in the hospital. So they and their families need our prayers. But picked up a few new ones as well as had some Friday appointments move over to today as they have a funeral to attend on Friday. So as you see the salon never has a dull moment. Loved meeting the new clients. One I didn't get to meet as she wasn't feeling well. So maybe.. Friday. We will see what it holds for me.
So I handed out a few letters on Adopt -A-Grandparent. I was really excited about that. I sold three! So I'm three closer to my 350 goal! I have until Dec 14th to get them in. I know I can do this. I want to delivery by the 24th of Dec. So I'm really looking forward to doing this for them.
Hubby called asked me to stop and pick up some makings for homemade tacos. He decided hew as going to make chicken tacos. They turned out so yummy!
Then my neighbor and my friend came over so I could practice more of the hair flairs. I'm so excited about them. I'm learning a few tricks and it is going much smoother. I have a few more practice appointments then I will be ready for the Mary Kay event which will be on the 13th of Dec as well as the 27th of Dec. They are so nice looking in the hair. They really are very attractive in the hair.
I'd like to thank Vanessa and Kathrine for helping me out and being models for me. I now need to find a way to become a better photographer so that my pictures come out and you can see more of what I'm doing. Another skill to learn and accomplish.
So I'm sure as I learn all these skills and grow in my blogging ability we will all grow together and have so much fun laughing and learning together.
Tonight I'm going to enjoy the Wii with hubby and Kathrine and the New "Karate Kid".

Hump Day
Good morning! Today is hump day and my first day of the week at the hair salon. I never know what the day will hold. As my husband puts it I work in "Gods Waiting Room". Because my salon is in an assisted care living home. I as well travel to Adult Foster Care Homes as well to those that are shut in or anyone who would rather not go out but have me come to them. I love this job and making others feel and look great. I feel I have the best job in the world. Each week I never know what it holds or if I will be preparing them for their new birthday and celebration of meeting their Father in heaven. That part is hard and never ever easy! I thank God for my husband who encourages me on those days that I find out I have said goodbye to one of my friends and clients. You see they have enriched my life with their smiles laughter and an dotes on life. It is a rewarding job that blesses me beyond finical. I get to hear about their life and journey and memories of days gone by. The for gotten stories of days gone by. I have had the honor and privilege to do hair on women that have lived to be 106 years young. The wisdom is so amazing! The travels the children and grandchildren. If you ever have a chance to spend time with those you have traveled a full and complete life they bring such humor to the plate. What I would think is new is truly NOT they already have tried or something close to it. Nothing I say seems to amaze them and they are always excited to come and share their life with me. What an Honor!
