Imperfect, adjective: not perfect; faulty or incomplete.

Lame, adjective: (of a person or animal) unable to walk normally because of an injury or illness affecting the leg or foot, (of an explanation or excuse) unconvincingly feeble, (of something intended to be entertaining) uninspiring and dull, (of a person) naive or inept, especially socially.

As I face each new day

With its harrowing storms

The imperfect dream

As lame as it seems

It was that imperfect dream

That brought joy and hope

Even on the harrowing days

When life seemed like "WHY?"

Yet with each lame step

You held my hand

Holding me "Telling me it will be okay!"

My heart rushed 

With this imperfect love

Then one night

You ended it all

The harrowing storms 

Over took the dreams of joy and hope

Replaced with darkness and despair

When you stopped holding my hand

My heart stopped
Love lost in a blink

My imperfect dream of joy and hope

It stopped the day

You dropped my hand

When you no longer held it

Nor the love in my heart

The key to the imperfect dream

You gave that to another

The harrowing storms of life

Over taking me 

In this lame imperfect world

Alone as I face each new day

Searching 

Dreaming of the day

My imperfect dream

Will bring me joy and hope once again

In this lame and imperfect world

Lost and searching

As I face each new day alone

Knowing one day

It will be "OKAY!" once again
In this imperfect harrowing world
