65 Day Journey

Day 65

The very last day of the challenge
The last day of the month
The last day of the year
And 2011!

I say goodbye 2011!
Welcome 2012!

For the last day of everything today I treated myself to a root canal of all things.
Yes!
You heard right.
Ouch in the mouth
Ouch in the pocket book
Double ouch!
And still need a crown.
Which I cannot afford.
This set me way back.
But I praise God that I will be feeling better soon.

Hubby made nachos for dinner.
We are going to rest a bit and play on the Wii

Hope the year end finds all of you enjoying the festivities of the celebrations with loved ones.
May the New Year bring new found joy and love and fill your homes with many blessings

NKJV

Psalm 141:2

Let my prayer be set before You as incense, The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Devotional Card

O God of love and forgiveness, so fill my heart with the spirit of Jesus that I will be quick to return love for evil.

Psalm 16:11

"Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for ever more."

65 Day Journey

Day 64

The last Friday of the year!
It was relatively quite in the salon today.
I did four shampoo sets and two hair cuts.
Next week should be a full busy week if all appointments hold.
Which would be a great start to the New Year!

Came home and Sally and I visited a bit.
She and Carol went out for a bit.
I was so happy to see her get out.
She has been such a huge blessing to me.
But...
I know she needs to get out.
I'm sure she had a bit of cabin fever.

I went over for tea at Pat's house.
It was a lovely time.
The best part was having tea in fine bone china.
Somehow that tea seemed to taste so much better.
It was a lovely afternoon.

It has rained all day today.
For the most part it has been a very dry December.
Cold but dry!

Wonder what the New Year will hold....

NKJV

Psalm 5:8

Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; Make Your way straight before my face.

Devotional Card

Dear Lord, as we rely on you for our security, may we live so we can help some others find the security they need.

Proverbs 1:33

"Whoso hearkeneth unto me shall swell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil."

Are you Looking forward to the New Year?

65 Day Journey

Day 63

Another full day at the salon.
For some reason when I work out at Clackmas I always seem to be more tried.
I'm not sure if it is because I get up at 5 to leave at 7 and go until about 4 or 5.
Or the fact that I really haven't had any sleep in three days due to the darn flood light that is pouring into my entire house.
There is no escaping this horrible light at night.
It lights up my entire home like brood day light!
I will find away to fix it.
I spoke with management and they assure me that wont be going away ever.
WONDERFUL!

As the minutes go fleeting by one be one.
I look over this past year;
Making mental notes:
 Of things accomplished
Things to complete
And things that I wish I had done
That I will do in 2012.

NKJV

Isaiah 37:30

This shall be a sign to you: You shall eat this year such as grows of itself, And the second year what springs from the same; Also in the third year sow and reap, Plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them.

Devotional Card

O Lord, let mine be a life of sacrificial love.

Psalm 5:12

"For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous:with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield."

Have you started to put your Christmas decoration's away?

65 Day Journey

Day 62

It seems the days are rolling into one another;
Here at the year end.
Where one ends another begins,
But they all seem to be one to me.

Wednesday was a full day at the salon
A perm first thing in the morning.
Then a long lull between appointments.

So a roaming I went.
I took some photos of the Christmas decor;

Christmas At Park view

Mr. & Mrs. Snowman

A Place To rest Our Tried Feet
Before they took it all down till next year.

Home to a wonderful pot of homemade beans.
My dear friend Sally made a wonderful pot that was gobbled up quickly.

65 Day Journey

Day 56

I seem to be pushing more and more into the day trying to accomplish all that I need too.

The day started out with me headed to work.
I had three hair cuts over at the private home care.
It was wonderful to see those ladies and wish them a very merry Christmas.
I hadn't been over there in about five months.
Then over to John's to mop floors and cook some meals for him.

Came home and helped do some cleaning.
Sally and hubby both where doing house work.
They also gave my CK girl a bath.
She smells so pretty!
Thank you Hubby and Sally!

Then headed out to do a bit of shopping.
Which I was really hoping I didn't need to do.
But I had things I had forgot to pick up.
Sad thing is I still have more to do.
Plus go get the dinner yet!

So much to do and so little time left.

Then went out with my girlfriends to the Grotto to look at Christmas lights.
OH what a delight that is.
I love going to the Grotto.
Then we headed over to Peacock Lane to look at Christmas lights.
After that we drove around a bit and looked at more Christmas lights.
Tonight was the night to look at Christmas lights.
I still want to go out one more time to look at lights if at all possible.
There is a place near home that is so beautiful with lights.

NKJV

Matthew 1:18

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

Devotional Card

Heavenly Father, how grateful I am that I am not left alone to flounder in weakness. Strengthen me through the lifeline of prayer.

Are you trying to squeeze a ton of things in the last few days as you prepare for Christmas?

65 Day Journey

Day 55

WOW!
Time is flying by!
I cannot believe we are almost through this year.
That Christmas is four days away.
And I'm packing and stuffing the days full of activities to squeeze everything in.
Sometimes I just wish we had more time in a day.
But....
Would we waste it or sleep it away?
Maybe the 24 hours we have truly is just enough.
It just slips by so very quickly.

Today I over slept so I was on the run from the time I got up this morning.
I haven't over slept in a long time.
All I can say I must have been tried.
I went to bed early last evening. Didn't even finish putting up my blogs.
Then I over sleep.

I got to work on time though!
Praise the Lord!
All my ladies showed up too,
Plus I had two new clients.
A hair cut and a set.
I so love my work.
I feel so blessed to be able to care for their beauty needs in hair care.

Then headed over to John's and did a little house keeping and cooking.

The highlight of the day was coming home and finding my dear friend Sally had been cleaning my home making it spit spot!
I am truly blessed!

We went out with my dear friend Mary over to her sisters home house.
What fun!
We bought all kinds of yummies!
Jams, pies, noodles, soups.
Oh what a wonderful little treat this was.

The I come home and find a box on my patio from Omaha meats.
My sisters for Christmas blessed us with Omaha meats.
Yummy!
I guess I will be needing that gym for sure.

Now I'm washing clothes because I dripped jam on my coat.
I will need it for tomorrow evening.
So had no choice but to wash tonight.

NKJV

John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Devotional Card

Lord, grant us the determination to overcome all obstacles in our discovery of your love.

Acts 10:35

"But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, accepted with him."

Will you be doing any traveling this week to see loved ones?

65 Day Journey

Day 54

I am so tried today.
I really think all this hustle and bustle is catching up with me.

I have a very full day today.
In fact the rest of this week is crazy full.
Praying I will be able to get my blog post up for the challenges.

http://thesimplewomansdaybook.blogspot.com/

FOR TODAY~

I will get a little closer to having Christmas ready.
I will put together a few care packages to give a little hope to those that feel there is none.
Just for today I will let sing a song of Happy Birthday to a precious little granddaughter!
Outside my window...

It is foggy and a bit chilly.
With no possibility of seeing the sun!
Bummed!

I am thinking...

I wish I could be near my children and grandchildren.
As my youngest granddaughter turns five today.
I would love to be with her to celebrate her and the day the Lord blessed us with her.
Happy Birthday Rylee!

I am thankful...

For friends that are traveling to spend time with me through the Christmas and New Year season.
For the love of my family.
The little things like smiles from strangers as you walk by.
The hello that lifts your spirits.
From the learning rooms...(if this applies)

That when it is Christmas week don't plan on getting any where or getting anything done in a hurry. As everyone is out and the traffic is crazy lines are long.
No one has courtesy .
So put on your happy face and pass out some of Jesus love.
Many need it this week before Christmas.

In the kitchen...

Dishes washed.
Dinner cooked and Lemon bars sitting on counter.

I am wearing...

Blue Jeans.
Brown boots
Red long sleeved top and a grey sweater with hood fake fur around the hood.

I am creating...

Working on a needle point when I have spare time to get a few stitches in.

I am going...

To Down town Portland today to pick up my girlfriend from the train depot.

I am wondering...

Where does all this traffic come from the week before Christmas.
You never see this any other time.

I am reading...

I'm actually still working on the two books that I haven't been able to pick up and read with such a full plate .
I fall asleep with book in my hand. Not remembering what the last words were that I had read.

I am hoping...

That I will sleep well this evening.

I am looking forward to...

To the visit with my girlfriend from Klammath. The Nutcracker on Friday evening and a host of other activities that are planned.

I am hearing...

Two TV sets playing two different stations.
The giggles of  hubby and my girlfriend visiting.

Around the house...
The lights of Christmas shine.
With a few more items to wrap up.
Along with pulling together a few special packages to help brighten someones Christmas this year.
I am praying

That I will get some rest.
That my work will pick up so I can meet my household and finical needs.
That my daughters will have a blessed and wonderful Christmas.
That they will get along.
Amber find a car and that Heather would have more work. That Amber would get a job in the profession that she study and worked so hard to get..
For my youngest daughter and her family to have a wonderful Christmas as well.

I am pondering...

The state of affairs and how some of the things in our world will effect me personally in 2012.

One of my favorite things...

Wishing my grandchildren a Happy Birthday!
Telling them how much I love them and how special they are.

A few plans for the rest of the week:

Work
Cleaning around the house
Finish up shopping for Christmas dinner
The nutcracker
Christmas lights
Just to mention a few things for the rest of the week.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
(add your picture here)

NKJV
Matthew 19:13-15
Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebukes them. But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven." And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.
Devotional Card
O God of all comfort, bring quietness and calm to hearts worried about what the day may bring.
Matthew 11:28
"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Do you find yourself feeling tried and rundown the closer it gets to Christmas?
