Bucket List ~

Bucket list of things to do before I leave this beautiful earth and go onto glory. This will be an on going list and I will add to it when the whim hits me. Or I find another must do. I had bucket list on here at one time and I'm sure I still do. But.....It is time to start fresh. And if I do any of these on my on going bucket list I will have to let you know. Most photos and information will come from searching the net. Come along and join the fun! Start you list and lets have a party with our on going bucket list. But...don't forget to share when you get to mark one off!
I will be linking up with my friend over at:
Gilligan and Maryanns Island.

1) Learn to ski would be like something I could learn to do this year. As i live in one of those most beautiful places for skiing in the world in my opinion. I would love to learn at MT. Hood at the Lodge. I have lived near this mountain most of my life and near other beautiful ski resorts and never learned. Well....I think it is time. So the first one on my list is to learn to ski! So if anyone has any tips please let me know.

I don't like the cold much so this could be why I never learned. I am the one usually sitting in the lodge drinking hot chocolate next to the fire.
But I think I would love to try this just once maybe more if I like it.
As I do water ski! And love it!

The link I am providing will take you to Wikipedia, it has some wonderful history on the lodge and the area.
This area is so rich in history and beauty. I call it God's country. Hand painted my Him for me to explore and enjoy everyday.

Do you snow ski?

One of the places I think would be so awesome to go is to the Statue of Liberty in New York.
I would head straight to the top of the Statue of Liberty.
She represents so much to me.
The freedom that I have here in this great country and land in America!
She represents the honor I feel.
The soldiers that have fought for my freedoms and lost their lives so I might have the life I have here in America.
She represents a land of hope to so many who come searching for a better life;
And so much more.

There is so much I want to see in this grand land I call home.
So being able to see her and everything she represents is a great re-starting place for me on my bucket list.

Bucket List ~ Eight

Come hook up with Gina over at Rainbow's Daily Life and link  http://rainbowslifejourney.blogspot.com/2011/07/bucket-list-day-19-tombstone-az.html
up your bucket list. See what others want to do and see before they leave this earth. Be careful you maybe adding more to your list.  Lets see all the exciting things others have.

This week my husband and I lost a dear friend in Sacramento from a massive heart attack.
Life is so short!
He will be greatly missed.
You are most likely wondering what does this have to do with a bucket list.
Everything!
Not only should we be making a bucket list we should be fulfilling it and crossing them off as we complete them.
Adding more as we go along and we see what other great things we want to do and see and experience in our life time.
Which made me think about one of the things I do want to do.
Which is right here in Oregon.
And I intended to fulfill it prayerful before years end.
That would be my GOAL!

So what I intend to do before years end is:
I want to do the Hell Gates tour on the Rouge River In Southern Oregon. I even have friends that live down that way! What am I waiting for?
I have always wanted to and I just haven't.
After hearing about my friend who is the same age as I am; it really made me stop and think. I have lost lots of friends in the past. But... life is getting shorter with each passing year. I need to fulfill these dreams and make them reality. God placed these dreams in my heart and they are there for a reason. Not just to dream about or think maybe someday. Some days never come. I must start planning and living like today is the last and that If this was what would I want to do. Well.............This is one of the things I really want to do. So today I am planning to accomplish this bucket list on this dream to make it a reality to cross it off.
It is on my date calendar for this year!

Whats on your bucket list that you can start planning to cross off in the next few months or less?

Bucket List ~ Seven

Come hook up with Gina over at Rainbow's Daily Life and link  http://rainbowslifejourney.blogspot.com/2011/07/bucket-list-day-19-tombstone-az.html
up your bucket list. See what others want to do and see before they leave this earth. Be careful you maybe adding more to your list.  Lets see all the exciting things others have.

http://www.dimensionsguide.com/dimensions-of-a-hang-glider/

Today I was watching 20/20 and there was this guy known as the bird man and he loved to fly. Reminded me of  when I was younger I had always wanted to go hand~gliding. This episode of 20/20 juggled that memory of one of the things I thought I would love to do. I think I may not be as brave or the dare devil I once was. Or the girl that lived on the edge as I once use too. But I think I would still like to go hand gliding.
Jumping off the side of the cliff and just floating and gliding along the sky with the birds. OH! WOW! That would be the ultimate high! I know God didn't design us that way. But wouldn't it be great to soar along the sky like an eagle in the heavens. Lifted on high with the angels in heavenly places. Forgetting all the troubles of this world and dreaming of the blue sky's and bouncing from cloud to cloud in the heavens playing with the angels that protect us and guide us. Yes! I think hand gliding may have to stay on this Bucket list until I try it. They say you are never to old to live your dreams. So..... Come fly with me through the air and see the world through the goggles of the hand glider, I'm sure we would have to wear. No rose colored glasses here; just beauty from the heavenly sky above as we peer down in wonder to the ground below and all its beauty.

Have you ever wanted to fly like a bird?

Bucket List ~ Six

Today on my bucket list I thought I would write about playing the piano.
I know how to chop stick and bang on them a bit. But to know how to play the piano, NOT AT ALL!
It is truly something that I wish I had learned.
So it is on the bucket list to learn.
It is never to let to learn or go back to school.
So this is one of the things I need to go back music to school and learn.
I have many friends that play the piano. My mother plays, my youngest sister owns a piano and desires to learn herself.
My daughters learned to play instruments when they where in elementary school. They didn't stick with it though. I never wanted to learn an instrument I guess, not that I remember anyways. I messed around with a guitar once with a few friends that played.
We had an Organ in the that my mom was learning to play and we all learned to play chop sticks on it and a few other tunes. I remember playing "This Old Man" on it. We all loved it but weren't aloud to touch it unless mom or dad was with us. I love music.
I was really into theater when I was kid. I started out young and got into Thespians through school and performed a lot in Drama.
Music just seemed to elude me. Though I had plenty of friends that played in band and those who sang. I just never ever seemed to lean that direction.
So know that I'm aging with grace I need to learn this instrument the piano.
So for day six on the bucket list is learning to play the piano.
Besides my mother told me I have piano fingers. So I wonder why she never had me learn? I guess I will have to ask her that question. Maybe we just didn't have the fiances for the classes. She was a single mom raising four kids back when you never heard of women doing that; so.........

So head over to Gina's to add to the bucket list link over at "Rainbow's Daily Life"
Check out all her wonderful bucket list places where her honey and her plan on visiting. You will be blessed.

Do you play an instrument? What kind?

Bucket List ~ Five

Have you heard about Gina over at "Rainbow's Daily Life." She has a wonderful linky for our Bucket list you can add yours over at her site:
http://rainbowslifejourney.blogspot.com/
We are all taking wonderful trips to wonderful places and seeing and doing wonderful things. Come along and have some fun!

Today for my bucket list I would like to go up in a hot air balloon and see the world from the balloon on a clear sunny day over a crystal blue lake.
I know that Lake Tahoe offers these delightful events but not really sure where else one can do this trip or adventure.
But it is defiantly something I think would be wonderful.
Flying high above the land with the birds all around me and Gods blue yonder sky.
FREE..............
Sounds absolutely dreamy to me.
Now if I could get hubby to think that is would be wonderful. He doesn't even like flying that much at all. Several cocktails and he is ready for flight! Hmmmm............No I would want him to enjoy it not fall out.
Guess I need to put that on my prayer list.
Come fly away with me.....

My daughter Heather had a Chance one time to fly in one. But... it never worked out. The timing or the weather never seemed to be in line with each other. What a bummer! I think she would have had so much fun!

Have you ever flown in a hot air balloon?

Bucket List ~ Four

Another add to my bucket list.
Please go check out Gina, at "Rainbow's Daily Life" and link up with her and her linky.
http://rainbowslifejourney.blogspot.com/
It is so much fun to see and read about every ones bucket list.

One of the places I have always wanted to go is to the Indy 500 race in Indianapolis.
Sunday May 29, 2011 was the 100th anniversary of this very prestige race.

The end of the race was a heart wrenching one for the rookie driver Hildebrand who in the last corner hit the wall. Giving the race to Dan Wheldon. Congratulation's to him and his team who drove a great race as did the rookie. It was a heart breaker!
I had really wanted Danica Patrick but that didn't happen. She drove a great race as well. Her poll start was 25th and she ended the race in 8th as well as lead it for several laps towards the very end of the race. She just got some bad breaks today.

Bravo to all!
It was a good day at the track.

Hubby recorded both the Indy and the Coco Cola race today.

My husband and I both love auto racing.

When I was much younger I use to race in Marysville, California on the dirt track with the guy I was dating at the time.
We had a blast!
He also pitted for Nascar at the time. So I got to go to a lot of wonderful races.
Meet Dale Earnhardt Sr. many moons ago.  Along with many other big racers of the time. It was an exciting time in my life. Great memories.
Somewhere in all of my pictures I have some Nascar photos. Goodness knows where they are though. I think I will have to look for them.

When I was traveling with my mom and my younger sister. to Pa. To see my Great Aunt Cora; coming home they stopped at the Indy track for me. We spent most the day there, so we went through the museum and took lots of pictures. What fun that was! Lots of history and lots of race cars. Now I must go back for the race. I'd even like to go back for The Brick Yard race in Nascar.

My husband has several tracks he would like to go too. He goes to Phoenix track every year to watch the race in November. One day i would like to go with him. He calls it the guys weekend trip. I think I should be allowed to crash it!

Do you like auto racing?

Bucket List ~ Three

If you haven't heard Gina over at "Rainbow's Daily Life" has a wonderful linky for our bucket list.
So as I journey through the excitement of life and find places and things I would like to do I'm linking up with Gina as our hostess; over at:
Lets see how many fun places and things we can find to see and do in ones life time.
Looking forward to seeing them all as well as hearing you crossing them off one by one.

One of the places that I have always desired to see and give my honor and respect; is at Pearl Harbor where so many lives where lost and changed forever.
With it being Memorial weekend I thought what better time to share another one of the many places of history that I would love to go and see before my light flickers out to be with the Father above.
I am so humbled by the many stories I have heard from this time in history.
We owe so much to so many for the fight they fought for our continued freedoms here that we have.
I have had many friends that have been and said this is a place to go.
They say it leaves you speechless!
I can only wonder and imagine what lays beneath the watery graves of so many men and women on that fateful day that changed the direction of history forever in many life's and this country.
Thank you each one that have freely given of their loved ones and the lives lost for the freedoms I take so for granted everyday.
It is because of you I so richly enjoy all that I have.
Thank you seems so little.

NIV
Psalms 119:44-48

I will always obey your law, for ever and ever. I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your percepts. I will speak of your statues before kings and will not be put to shame, for I delight in your commands because I love them. I lift my hands to your commands, which I love, and I mediate on your decrees.
