DAY 20

Thankful

I'm thankful for the job I have and the work the Lord blesses me with. The ability to stop and pray with those in need of prayers. Their thankfulness for me being there and more than happy to pray besides doing their hair. Love the work I do even when I don't think I have something to offer God shows me other wise. Thank you Lord for the work of my hands and the provision and the ability to stand and pray for others.

The beautiful red trees at the intersection where I turn to go to work.
Just loved the red red trees and the beauty.
Even with the over cast grey skies and rain there is a beauty that brings such peace to my heart.
Love that burning red aglow!

As you see even the light was red so I was able to snap these two photos before heading off to work.
The evergreen trees just frames the beauty of red.
What a picture to behold.
Almost made me wish I didn't have to go to work so I could head to the park and just sit and enjoy this amazing red beauty.

Do you like to sit in the park by yourself and take in all the beauty surrounding you?

Day 19

Thankful

I'm thankful for the support of family and loved ones when you need prayer they come in and stand next to you and encourage and love on you and pray like this is no tomorrow. I love that about my family and friends. It makes me feel like its just a small bump in the road instead of a mountain that is movable. Love you all thank you so much! For being you and the rocks that God has surrounded me with!

My wonderful bowl of homemade pumpkin soup that I cooked for two days.
I topped with sour cream cheese and walnuts.
What a yummy dinner it was.
Still have a pot full left so guess what we will be having this evening?
Happy harvest meals in this household.

Do you like trying new dishes and meals?

DAY 18

Thankful

I'm thankful for my oven the money to purchase the goods that I need to make meals with. That I am able to try new dishes and meals that my hubby will enjoy that are healthy and good for you. Love the harvest time of year when you can get so many fresh veggies and fruits.

Took my jolly Halloween pumpkin and baked him in the oven
Ready for some cleaning and cooking of some
Homemade pumpkin soup.
Along with freshly roasted pumpkin seeds.

Ready for some cleaning of the insides.
Ready to be cooked down into some yummy homemade pumpkin soup.
Yes! I'm doing it the old fashion way.
It has been all day in the kitchen for me.

This pot is ready to start mashing and cooking down.
All the wonderful flavors of onion, garlic, and bacon to be cooked with it.
I can hardly wait!
This will be ready to serve tomorrow.

The mashing quickly turns into a yummy creamy soup.
Soon to be topped with sour cream and walnuts.
As I serve this scrimshaw seasonal delight up for dinner tomorrow evening.

Cleaning of the pumpkin seeds for a little Fall snack.
Nothing better than freshly roasted pumpkin seeds.

Some freshly roasted pumpkin seeds ready to snack on!

Let the snacking begin!

So many things

going on in the kitchen today.

Decided we needed to use up all the wonderful
Fresh veggies in the house.
So I decided to something new.
I made home made cabbage rolls.
My first!
Of course this whole day in the kitchen has been an adventure.

As I truly am not much of the Suzy home maker!
Though today we all were fooled by that, myself included!

Success in the kitchen!
Dinner went well and hubby loved it!

I did have to pop it back in the oven.
I followed the instructions,
said uncooked rice.
Wish I had cooked it before hand.
It was a bit crunchy, so I had to pop it back in the oven.
The rice still was a bit under cooked. But next time I will cook before hand.
The kitchen and I ended well today.

Are you a Suzy home maker? Do you enjoy cooking?

DAY 17

Thankful

Thankful for such wonderful friends and girl time. Really enjoyed myself with Mary McCormick Loomis and Edie Ricker Cowell and Pam today! Had a wonderful lunch today at the Original Taco House. That Pam is a wild girl! Maybe we all should have went dancing with her to dance off our lunch!

When lunch was done it was time to treat ourselves to fried ice cream and all the trimmings.
What a delicious treat it was!
And one orange sherbet!
I believe we would have licked those dishes clean if we could have.

On the way home we had to run by and get an address off a building for an event on Wednesday.
A few doors down we found this sign.
It made us all smile and had to have a picture of it.
Wish it would have came out better....
But it is readable and still puts a smile on my face.
Would love to have this on my front door.

Do you have a sign that says no soliciting?

Photo A Day~

DAY 17

This just seemed like the perfect thing to post up with my thankful list as I look for all the things I am thankful for in the month of November. This is my calender at my salon at Parkview.

So this is also the first day of November and I am going to be posting at least one thing a day I'm thankful for! I had tried to do this the whole year long; I fail short this past year. But here we are at the most thankful month of the year once again. So no better place to start than today.

So I'm very thankful and grateful for the many blessing of each lady that comes to see me each week to get their hair done which provides me with great joy and happiness along with the means to make my money. I feel it is also my mission field of blessings. Thank you for this amazing ability and talent to do something I love Lord. It is a gift that keeps given to me in more ways than finical.

The lone flower!
The end of the vibrant beauty
Crisp colors at the end of Fall.
That will soon be only a faint memory,
Until Spring rolls around when the buds start popping through the melting cold of Winter.
I love the colors that hang on so tightly;
Not wanting to let go of their splendor and beauty.
Strength that reflects how I feel.
Not wanting to let go!
Knowing that something better will be coming.
Hidden in the darkness of the cold Winter,
Waiting to grow and bloom,
Into the new life that awaits each of us;
In every new season.

Do you do a thankful list or grateful list in the month of November or year round?
