December 2012

Fun facts about me!
I was trying to think of away to be witty
Which I can say I am NOT!
I am fun to be around
Love to be the life of the party
I love to dance
Which I'm not so good at
Which is something I wish that I was able to do
obviously that is something I wont be doing anytime soon
Thinking maybe dance lessons maybe in my future
When ankle allows it
And I did recently read and learn that dancing helps fight
Altimerzers and dementia
So I do need to get my dancing shoes out and ready to go!
I love history!
So going to new places rich in history is always a plus
And so very fun too!
Where there is a museums
You can find me
Love places rich in culture
Oh that could be anywhere in the world!
Lucky me!
YEA!
I love taking photos!
Sharing them with anyone who will
Look and listen to the events and story's about them
Maybe a photo class is in my future
I love hiking
Not happening at the moment either
Seems like most of what I'm sharing about me
Is all on my feet and not so easy for me at this moment in time
Though that will change
and is changing daily
I love all the arts
I was a Thespian when I was younger.
I surely had the acting bug
I still enjoy some
Through church occasionally
I love the Lord with all my heart
I'm a mom
And a grandma to the
Ten most amazing grandchildren
I love my job
I have a beauty shop
In a Assisted Home living
I also do hair at another salon
Helping out when needed
I also like writing
Hence the blogging
Just some little tidbits about me

Bonus question:
I do enjoy reading
With that said
I have read
Many autobiographies
As they are some of my favorites to read
Along with true crime
So whose would I like to read
Hmmmm........
I think I would like to
read
Bette Milder
Shirley Temple
As well as
CondoLeeza Rice
I pick these three woman
Because they are
All very strong
Independent women whom I admire
For many different reason
They each
Bring their own style
And have risen to the top
Of their game
Something I would like
To achieve myself
In my life time
I feel
Like I can relate to each one of them
On some level

Who's biography do you want to read?

Ankle After Work
1-16-2013
Below is two fundraiser links to help with medical bills.
We have no medical insurance to cover medical.
As I have just started back to work there is still not much of an income.
I have only been working about 16 hours a week
Some weeks even as little as four hours a week.
Received our first pay check
It doesn't stretch to far.
Thankful of the work!
I also am not working the jobs I once had as I am unable too.
I was also released from one of my jobs that paid a bulk of the bills.
Through much prayers and through encouragement of some friends they suggested I give these a try.
Though only two people have responded.
God has been faithful in other ways.
Medical bills are piling up.
Just the few that have arrived already are near $30,000 plus.
And still coming in.
God is faithful and I trust this is alp going to be paid in full;
and every need meet through Him
Thank you!

Friendship Friday~

This Week’s Theme
One Small Step

Ankle Wrapped In Ice
Working and Walking
1-8-2013
As I think of my one small step;
It focuses me towards my success to this coming year and the goals I have set.
I think about getting back on my feet
Doing all that I once did before the mishap and surgery with my ankle.
I had many lessons this past year as I was recovering and re-learning to walk.
And am now in the process of learning my new normal.
Each new day is a small step towards that new normal.
Re-learning, limitations and strengthens;
Things that I once did that came so naturally and easily;
That I can no longer do.
That I now have limitation in doing that I once did not.
That once came so easily and with no limitations or thought at all.
The things I enjoyed and took for granted.
Long walks, hikes with friends, working on my feet for 10 to 12 hours a day.
Getting up and down, kneeling and so much more.
The entire balance of my body.
So many things you cannot even imagine or dream
That we daily take for granted in our daily lives.
It is amazing what your feet do for you.
The very foundation that they give you to do so many things,
That we daily do without thought.
Each a lesson into finding
The new me and the new normal!
Which includes how I manage a day on my feet in my daily life and at work.
Living my life in the fullest each day;
Without fear of falling and re-injuring myself.
Doing all that I love and more.
Each job I have entails different abilities and being on my feet for long periods of time.
The activities I love and enjoy require me to be on my feet and have balance.
It's learning to be steady and slow,
With grace, but with great pace.
Its learning to say, I need to rest!
Doing what it takes to take care of my body and the ankle.
Though when working for others it isn't always so easy.
There are many demands when you work as a housekeeper in a hospital.
Thankfully I'm only supplemental at the present time.
So that means I can say no to a shift if need be.
Bills say "NO!" you need to work.
Health says be wise you have a life time to live ahead of you.
So wisdom plays a big roll in learning what I can and cannot do.
A huge learning curve.
Then I have the salon that I must work as that is mine.
Thankful that is more a ministry than a job that meets the bills.
But I also do fill work at another salon as well.
But....am able to set my own pace.
To say I need to sit a moment and rest.
Asking for help at home and not feeling bad because something doesn't get done.
The house will always need cleaning and the laundry done.
These are all steps to finding a new normal in my life.
Maybe my walks and hikes will be at a slower pace.
 walking stick or aid.
Stopping and resting and taking in more of the views
Through out this journey of life.
No matter whether it is work or play.
I look forward to many activities;
As I am re-learning that it is okay to ask for help;
In all of my work and activities.
As the routine's has changed for me
That I once would have done so much differently.
It is not something to be ashamed of but an accomplishment.
This isn't a race to see who does it best or the fastest.
But one done unto the Glory of God and His perfection
As He works in and through me.
On this new journey through re-learning.
Going back to the gym is one that I'm excited about as well.
As I know this will help strengthen the ankle and me both.
Using the tools before me and taking each step one day at a time.
Taking God as my partner and guide.
Living it as it is the last to my fullest to the glory of God!

Acts 6:8

New International Version (NIV)

Stephen Seized

Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.

(Instead of Stephen Seized: Beth Seized)

Whats your small steps to your success as you face each day headlong into the future of 2013?

Yet Another Email Share

This wonderful email post came from a very dear and special friend.
It was one of those you just want to share with everyone.

I took some of the things out as it was more towards a forward for email, so I did some adjustments.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
There are so many truths inside this.
It warmed my heart and touched me with a huge smile and a bit of laughter to pass along to ALL!
Thank you to each and all that have brought a slice of heaven to my small part of the world and sharing with me your friendship.
Thank you Crystal for the beautiful email.

 LOVE THIS ONE!!!!!
As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of  myself. I've become my own friend..

I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before  they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.

Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer  until 4 AM or sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish  to weep over a lost love .. I will.

I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with  abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.

They, too, will get old.

I know I am sometimes forgetful.  But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten.. And I  eventually remember the important things..

Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not  break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when some body's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken  hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will  never know the joy of being imperfect.

I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have  my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever  etched into deep grooves on my face.

So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.
As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about  what other people think. I don't question myself anymore..
I've even earned the right to be wrong.

So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I  like the person I have become I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here,
I will not waste time lamenting what could  have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert  every single day(if I feel like it)

MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT  FROM THE HEART!

How do you feel about growing older?
