A-Z Blogging Challenge~ Z

"Z" Is:

For the letter "Z" I seem to be able to think of lots of things to write which is so funny to me. As there really isn't many words for "Z" either. But I was thinking I can do this one.
The first that came to mind is the "zzzzzzzzzzzzz's" that I lack when I cannot sleep. I could possible write a book on this one. As I seem to lack in my "zzzzzzzzzz's" so much.
I thought about the zoo. I love the zoo and all the fun I have when I go. How much fun I had when I took my girls when they where young. Love taking my grandchildren to the zoo. I'm transported to my days of childhood running from one exhibit to another.
I could write about the zeal I have about life and the Lord. Or even the zeal I have for my blog.
So as I write this late at night missing out on my "zzzzzzzzz's" I accomplished something I never dreamed I could do. I have meet wonderful bloggers with awesome blogs as I lost out on my"zzzzzzzz's". I have had more fun than a barrel of monkey's at the zoo doing the A-Z challenge.
Now I have completed this challenge and wonder what will fill its place when I cannot catch any of my "zzzzzz's"
Thank you all for reading and each one of the new followers.
I look forward to our new adventure as this challenge closes.
Maybe I should go catch some "zzzzzzzzzzzzzz's".

Do you ever loss sleep over wanting to write on your blog or read others?

Finger Print Friday~ Birthday Celebration

Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them? Here's how to join:

1. Blog with your interpretation of God's fingerprints. Be sure to link back here so others can find the entire list of participants.

Head on over to the beautiful Beki's blog at and link up, you will meet some lovely bloggers and see some lovely finger prints.

Blonde Beauty

We have once again come upon another Friday which has arrived quickly and swiftly. This week has been filled with many finger prints from God, as does every week.
Gifts filled with an array of emotions and feelings along with memories made; some to hold  a life time some to let go.
But this finger print Friday I want to celebrate the birth of one of my beautiful granddaughters. As she turns 8 today.
Her gift from heaven to my daughter and the entire family. She is amazing as are all of my many treasured grandchildren.
She doesn't know it yet but her mema has bought her a CSI skull.  Which will be hand delivered to her in about two and half weeks. A bit late but.... I'm sure wont mine when she sees how it is being delivered. As usually they receive huge boxes from mema to them. But I know she will be so excited to see me as I them.
So today my finger print is the celebrations of life that is in our Samantha, aka Sammie.
I think life is the best finger print you find.

Samantha

Samantha a bright and shining star
Our gift from heaven above
Sparkle and glitter in her eyes
A beam of light
From heaven above
Shy blonde beauty
Exploring her world in wonder and delight
Smiles and giggles of laughter
With eyes of wonder
Kisses and smiles of love
From heaven above
Our gift from heaven

This picture was taken in April 09', during my short visit.
She plays for my favorite team the Giants!
Of course we know its not the pro team, but she wears the colors with pride.
Whatever team she plays for is my favorite team.
This year I think I had 3 or 4 grandchildren on different baseball team's playing.
So as you can imagine I had several favorite teams this year.
I was able to watch a few of the games during this visit.
My blue eyed pig tail baseball beauty.

YES! Go Giants!

What is your favorite baseball team?

A-Z Blogging Challenge~ Y

"Y" Is:

Okay these last few letters are a huge pain. Not so easy to write about. You would think it wouldn't be hard with someone who has so much to say; and when there is tons of things to write about.
But I'm a total lost.
I didn't even get to writing until very late this evening due to an odd event.
So I got out the dictionary and thought I need some inspiration.
Then it came to me.
It wasn't going to be from the dictionary but from the bible.
One of my very favorite scriptures which has sustained me more times than I can tell you.
It was one of the very first ones I remembered and took to heart when I re-commit my life to the Lord.
Though there are several scriptures in regards to the word I have chosen.
The word is "Yoke".

NIV

Matthew 11:28-30

"Come to me all you who are weary and burden, and I will give you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Galatians 5:1

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm the, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Hope this post finds you all having a wonderful Friday.

Did you watch or record the royal wedding?

Looky Looky!

Looky Looky!
At my pretty lady with my name!
Isn't she just beautiful?

The wonderful Gina over at "My Life In A Blog"

Gina and her honey Bob sent this to me. Don't know how she manged to find such a beauty but she has and gifted her to me. I just had to share and give her and her honey Bob and great big shout out and huge Thank you!
I'm super blessed and just love it!
The Bethe I always use has great meaning and is very dear and special to me.
So that the purple Violin Lady has Bethe on it means more than words can ever express.
My dearest friends call me Bethe and the kiddos have always called me Auntie Bethe so as you see there is very hidden meaning and much love behind it. There is more to the story but that is for another time.

THANK YOU GINA AND BOB!

I'm adding it to my page on the side bar.
It appears that I'm going to have to find another way to get all those buttons and awards plus linky's all put into a nice clean clear order so all can find and enjoy.
I may have to learn some more blog tricks or I will be paying someone else. Some how that doesn't sound right to me. But.... maybe? Who knows? So there maybe a new design in the future for this blog.

So I made this little lovely button my blog button so you can grab it and add. Its it just a lovely lady?
I'm so very excited about this beauty!
Truly I am so very blessed!

Have you been pleasantly surprised by your bloggie friends?

365 Days Of Pictures ~Day 64

The precious little Blonde haired braided pig tail girl!
Well she is mine.
She is my oldest granddaughter.
What a light and joy she is.
She loves playing baseball.
I was visiting a few years back in April 09'.
Naturally this grandma had to go watch.
They lost that game. :(
But the wonderful thing about sports is they are learning lessons for life.
We don't win every time.
But we are a winner every time we put our best foot forward. And we give it our all!
So even when we loss we are winners.
What lessons we can learn through sports and children!
And so much more.
Eagerly Waiting

Do you like baseball?

A-Z Blogging Challenge~ X

"X" Is:

Even the dictionary doesn't have many words for the letter "X".
There is those that are referred to as generation "X".
That sounds so awful as though you are being "X" out.
So I have never been fond of that reference to a generation.
As each generation is of much value and worth.
They bring so much to this world and our life's.
My daughters where referred to as generation "X".
I say I think the letter "X" leaves one wondering what to write.
So few words and none come to mind.
So here I ramble on about the letter "X".

I could write about xylophone.

One of the classic toys of childhood and days gone by.
The first instrument every child learns and and every parent wonders why grandma bought such a toy.
Or is the xylophone the one instrument everyone wonders it truly one that is played at all? Or is it one only played in foreign lands and childhood days?

Or I could write about x-rays.
The ones the doctors take to see what is happening in the inside.
What is the diagnose of that x-ray?
Or is that x-ray vision for our super hero.
Who saves the day!
Maybe x-ray is the vision one has for the
the future with those super natural powers.

Or just maybe...
I have nothing at all as I ramble on about the letter"X".

What word do you think of when you think of the letter "X"?

365 Days Of Pictures ~Day 63

This is where they actually got to drink some of the fresh pressed butter milk that they had just helped make. That was actually so hysterically funny! I wished I had a video camera it was one of those moments and faces that you want to capture forever.
I personally tried it as well. I can see why they didn't like it.
They spit it out so fast.
I couldn't stop laughing.
They where so excited to try it too!

Weddings
With the upcoming events of the royal wedding I thought it would be fun to write about weddings.
The Royal wedding being one of the biggest events to happen since the wedding of Prince Charles to Princess's Di.
I remember watching Prince Charles wed Princess Di.
Staying up awaiting the bride to meet her groom.
All the hype not much different from all the activities and festivities of when his mother wed his father so many moons ago.
All the world awaiting to watch as the bride goes to meet her groom.
Now we await to watch as Kate prepares to wed her prince.
As Di did those many years ago to her prince on July 29, 1981.
As Prince William and Kate get ready to take their vows to one another on April 29, 2011.
All the world awaits.

KJV
Revelations 21:2
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

There is another wedding that many await around the world.
It is the Royal Wedding like none other before nor will be ever again
It isn't splashed all over the news nor pictures of the bride or groom.
As the world awaits this royal wedding no one knows the date, nor time.
This wedding is in the future where there will be no cameras or hyped activities or festivities of the prenuptial of the pending wedding of the bride to the groom.
As the bride awaits her groom she dresses herself in:
Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.

KJV
Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:against such there is no law.

The bride awaits her grooms return.
With her light shining brightly and her eyes upon the sky for her Master's return.

NKJV

1Thessalonians 4:17

"The dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

                                                                            NKJV

                                                                         Isaiah 61:10

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks [himself] with ornaments, And as a bride adorns [herself] with her jewels.

What are your fondest memories of your wedding day?

Write A Letter Wednesday

This week from Josie over at "Write A Letter Wednesday" She asked us to write a letter to some we need to make an apology to or make up with or someone that you've misjudge.
You can link  up this letter at:
http://write-a-letter-wednesday.blogspot.com/

Dear Estranged Friend,
I am writing this letter in regards to our strained friendship.
You feel that you have reason to have ought with me and I the same.
So I am taking this time to write this letter to you in regards to our disrupted and lost friendship.
I have truly missed you and all the fun we have had in the past.
The shared memories and heart felt conversation's. Along with those deep talks I only wanted to share with you and no one else. The ones that shared my hopes and dreams, those things only you could understand.
You have traveled this long road with me, over the years of smooth roads and bumpy ones too.
The joys, the heart aches and so much more. You get me like no one else does. You listen with your heart and never judged just loved.
I miss that friend so much. I wish I had her back.
So here I am writing this letter in hopes you may consider...remember...the friendship.
I miss the laughter along with those long nights of dancing all night long. As we adventure to the unknown parts of the globe. Stopping and exploring as our hearts desired not worrying what tomorrow would bring.
The friend that wiped the tears of loss and pain when words would never do. The one that cried right along my side as she knew my pain like non other.
I miss those fun filled afternoons at the movies as we where taken away into the land of make believe and dreams of those imagination's of fantasy of each actor on the screen.
I miss the quiet times when all we had to do is sit and knew that was all that was needed.
The hug that said I care and love you I'm there for you no matter what.
The hikes along the beach above the mountain tops which gave way to life time memories.
The picture perfect days of a friendship of a life time.
The long meals of chatter and clatter of all that was going on in one an other's life's.
The time's we would study, worship and pray together, my friend and confidante.
My friend that held my hand, through it all to the bitter end no matter the cost.
I miss my friend and was wondering if we could just sit and talk.
Remember....consider..... the friendship.
Could we possible spend an afternoon hashing it out?
Finding what has brought us to ought?
Could we lay our swords of pain, angry, frustration, disappoints, unforgiveness, and loss to the side?
Do you think we might find that place of middle ground to find our way back to what we had?
Do you think maybe for an afternoon we might find that place where we might be able to look ahead and not behind?
Find that friend that has never left my side and loved me through it all not matter the cost?
Could I find that friend and remember what we had?
For just a day...an afternoon...an evening...and remember what a friend she is?
Do you think....?

Prompt~ When I Was But A Child

Hey here we are with another exciting prompt from "Dodge Writes"
http://dodgewrites.blogspot.com/

Today's prompts ...

Here at Dodge Writes we will do FINISH THIS LINE... The only requirement in this prompt is that you use this as the first line in your write... you may use prose or any form of poetry ... today's line is... WHEN I WAS BUT A CHILD

When I was but a child
I dashed about
Here and there and everywhere
When I was but a child
I ran through fields of dancing butterflies
I chased the wings of beauty
Dancing in the fields
When I was but a child
A jiggle and a jangle I would sing
As I danced about the fields of beauty
Singing my jingle jangle
When I was but a child
I would leap through the trees
That swung there branches to and fro
As I swung from limb to limb
Leaping through the trees
When I was but a child
My dreams where full of Kings and Queens
Jesters in the courts
With knights and shining armour
When I was but a child
My doll named Julia
Tea for two
Fine china set my table
When I was but a child
My idle chatter filled the rooms
With dreams of tomorrow's
When I was but a child
I raced across the finish line
The winner
With a dream and kiss
That said I love you
Now its time for bed
When I was but a child

A-Z Blogging Challenge~ V

"V" Is:

Violin

The word violin came to mind the minute I came to the letter "V". It isn't an easy letter to write about. But it actually is the word and center piece of one of my most treasured poems every written. It still makes me cry every time I read it. It is so wonderful to know our worth in the right hands. Please enjoy the writings of "Myra Brooks Welch"

The Touch of the Master's Hand

It was battered and scarred,
And the auctioneer thought it
hardly worth his while
To waste his time on the old violin,
but he held it up with a smile.
"What am I bid, good people", he cried,
"Who starts the bidding for me?"
"One dollar, one dollar, Do I hear two?"
"Two dollars, who makes it three?"
"Three dollars once, three dollars twice, going for three,"
But, No,
From the room far back a gray bearded man
Came forward and picked up the bow,
Then wiping the dust from the old violin
And tightening up the strings,
He played a melody, pure and sweet
As sweet as the angel sings.
The music ceased and the auctioneer
With a voice that was quiet and low,
Said "What now am I bid for this old violin?"
As he held it aloft with its' bow.
"One thousand, one thousand, Do I hear two?"
"Two thousand, Who makes it three?"
"Three thousand once, three thousand twice,
Going and gone", said he.
The audience cheered,
But some of them cried,
"We just don't understand."
"What changed its' worth?"
Swift came the reply.
"The Touch of the Masters Hand."
And many a man with life out of tune
All battered with bourbon and gin
Is auctioned cheap to a thoughtless crowd
Much like that old violin
A mess of pottage, a glass of wine,
A game and he travels on.
He is going once, he is going twice,
He is going and almost gone.
But the Master comes,
And the foolish crowd never can quite understand,
The worth of a soul and the change that is wrought
By the Touch of the Masters' Hand.

I also know that my mom has an old violin somewhere that she gave to my youngest sister. Someone in our family use to play. Not sure who. I know my sister wanted to learn at one time. Whether she did or not I have no idea.
I had my daughters take lessons in music when they where younger. They didn't stay with it. But I'm glad they learned to play.
I never did learn to play an instrument. I attempt to play; two finger piano and the organ. They where both instrument's my mom played and had in the home growing up. I wish I had though.

Do you play an instrument or anyone in your family?

PlayDate ~ Easter Ham Dinner

Play date with ham!
Yes! You saw right.
I know your thinking is this lady nuts?
Just a little.
You see I really am not much for cooking.
Though I do know how. Was taught at a very young age.
Have cooked for large and formal dinner crowds, just the kiddos and the family.
My family and loved ones know I would much rather go out and eat then cook any day of the week.
And have been told I am a wonderful cook.
It is not what I enjoy doing.
I'd much rather be out exploring the world that I have been blessed with.
It isn't my love language at all.
But when I get an urge I will cook and bake all day.
My dream house has no kitchen in it.
Or if it does it has a cook and someone that does all the cleaning.
I would have a waiter and someone that meets all the lovely criteria of the very wealthy life style of the rich and famous.
I have never enjoyed the domestic goddess of the house hold job which also includes cooking.
I so admire those that do. You are my silent heroes.
So when I say I had a play date in the kitchen cooking... Well it is because I love to make those around me happy and full. Making them feel as special as they truly are.
So on  special events and holidays. Easter being one of them, I cook and I cook big meals enough to last for days. Enough food that I usually have to take some to neighbors as well.
In fact the oldest daughter called today and said how she missed not being home for the big festive dinners I always make. Made me feel good. As you see I don't always think they remember those things. But they do!
So today when I was cooking well hubby had to work. I had the classic movie playing with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire, "The Easter Parade"
I was remembering when  I was a child.
The day would be filled.
Mom would get us up and we would look for our Easter baskets hidden in the house. Then there would be the egg hunt.
But hurry as we must get in our Easter best and our Easter bonnets.
Church was always a Sunday morning event. Never to be missed and surely this day was not to be missed at all. We need to arrive early so we can find seats. Easter the church service is always so full. People standing around the pews and the entry way.
Mom would always start the ham before we left for church all the trimmings to be finished up when we got home from morning service.
As I was trimming my ham this afternoon I had wonderful heart warmed memories of days gone by and the love my mom poured into our meals.
She loves to cook for us. She always states how sad it is that her daughters never learned the joy of cooking.
So as I pierced the ham with pineapple and cherries I thought about the love.
Then I saw the dripping red cherries and I thought of the love that was given this past Friday as the blood red droplets reminder to me of His shed blood for me.
He paid the price and rose again.
The love that was poured out that day.
The memories of the love my mom made for her family. The love that I made for mine.
The ultimate gift the shed blood of Gods only son.
The celebration that the Tomb couldn't hold Him. He has risen and He lives.
I marvel at the love that is shed and love that is given.
Who would have thought a ham would bring such memories or cooking a meal for my hubby on Easter Sunday would bring this joy.
As I awaited for his return home from work I wondered why so many business's where open on such a day of celebration and remembrance.

KJV
Matthew 20: 18-19

Behold, we go up to Jerusalem: and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify Him: and the third day he shall rise again.

Do you enjoy having huge meals and cooking them?
