DAY 54

Early Christmas In Florida

Crystal and I
At Ringling Museum
December 2013
What a blessing to receive a gift to Florida round trip for a week in December.
Early Christmas in the sun.
I love the sun and the warmer weather.
Christmas is my favorite holiday but Summer is my most favorite season.
And to go for a week in the cold of Winter weather at Christmas time to a sunny warm spot in the world is the best early Christmas present ever.
Thank you Lord for this amazing blessing to see my friend and sister in Christ.
It was an amazing time I will cherish these memories forever and my early Christmas in December in the sun.

My beautiful friend Crystal, looking so lovely.
I love silver and blue trees.
And she was picture perfect for this tree in her blue and white.
This was one of many in the Cesar Hotel in Petersburg, Florida where we had lunch and enjoyed the many views.
Then a walk through old town Petersburg.
What a lovely day it was too.

My body combative
Until that first cup of coffee
Then I awake
Three cups later
Ready to represent the day
With smiles and sunshine
Looking for the best in the day

DAY 53

Looking for Christmas

Old Town St. Petersburg, Florida
December 2013
I was having a grand time in Florida. Though I must say I was truly on the hunt for Christmas.
I loved walking down this area of old town in St. Petersburg. The streets were decorated and so were the windows as well. I found this antique store the most festive little place. I loved looking at all the fun old decorations of days of old along with how they detailed every area of this shop. The store clerk told me his wife and daughter did all the work themselves in here. Hope you enjoy the festive photos as much as I enjoyed being inside looking at all the decor.

Look a Snowman tree!
What is better than that?
I love snowmen so this was a perfect find.
Love all the old toys under the tree. How each item is placed with great detail to display the joy of Christmas.
I love the nostalgia of this store and how they took in each piece and placed it with loving care with detail to the time period they were depicting in each scene. Even the detail of the cat laying by the fireplace sleeping and keeping warm.

 I love this Santa!
This scene brings warmth and love of the Christmas season to live.
Just makes you want to crawl inside and stay awhile and take it all in each and every detail of the scene.

As sugar plums danced in their heads!
I love this warm child's room!
A delight for any child to come and play.
Each toy placed with care ready for the imagination to play all day.
A warm bed ready for any small child to sleep tight and dream of Santa and all the presents under the Christmas tree.
As mommy kisses Santa Claus!

To you decorate your house in themes for Christmas? Colors? How?

 Banyan Tree Love Affair

Ringling Banyan Tree - Sarasota, FL

December 2013

There is a host of information on these trees in Wikipedia as well as information on the Ringling site where these photos where taken when I was there visiting the art museum and the grounds. So much to see I couldn't take it all in. I fall in love with these trees and couldn't get enough of them. I took dozens of photos of them. I would get so excited over them. I saw many of them in the area of Florida I was in.

  • Banyan

  • A Banyan is a fig that starts its life as an epiphyte when its seeds germinate in the cracks and crevices on a host tree.Wikipedia

I love that their where many places for me to sit and enjoy the beauty of these trees. I was able to soak up lots of sunshine as well. They gave beautiful umbrella's of shade to sit under and relax.

It is a garden of oasis's of these magnificent trees. I fell head over heels in love with them. I was crawling inside of them.
And naturally there are creatures that I'm not so excited about and so there are photos of me screeching about inside these trees of beauty. I don't like these crawling creatures of the landscape. It didn't stop my love affair with them at all though.

Do you love to travel in the Winter time to warm exotic places?

    If I had only listened
    When I was young
    I would not have toiled
    Had I submitted
To the one that first loved me
    All instruction was perfectly highlighted
    To submit
    If I had payed attention
It would have caused less pain
    Each year comes and goes
    With each passing day
    Each highlight
    A new gift
    To instruct
    Each coming generation
    So that they may not
    Have the pain
    Nor toil
    If they choose to listen
    To the instruction
    That is highlighted
    For submission

    ~Beth~

Are you a good listener and follow instruction well?
