Zipper

Original page:
The handy dandy zipper!
The zipper that closes up my jean pants
The zipper on my jacket
The hidden zipper on my slinky black dress
The zipper I need help with
The sexy zipper on my stiletto heel
The zipper necklace
The zipper on my purse
The zipper on my luggage
The zipper I need when my mouth over loads
That is when I want the zipper the most
Then there is the zipper ride
Where I can yell and scream
The zipper line
Who knew there where so many kinds of zippers

What kind of zipper can you think of?

Yelling

You could hear the voices across the yard
What was all the yelling about?
Was it children playing in the yard?

Where the parents yelling at the children to come home?
Maybe it was fight.....
The yelling could be for someone to get help?
Was the yelling caused by gripping pain?
What was all the yelling about?

Another difficult letter to write about.
So many things one could be yelling about.
The thrills and shrills of yelling at a game.
The yelling to just let out a scream.
Hmmmmm..........
Yelling
It hurts my ears!

Do you yell when you get mad?

Blogging From A to Z Challenge ~ "X"

X

X-Ray

As one sits and wonders about things
They may feel the need to x-ray all that has transpired
In the days months and years
That have lead them to this place

One would need an x-ray camera
That would be able to sort all of these emotions and feelings
That have caused such a rift

What has happened?
All that is left is raw feelings of contempt and hatred
Would the x-ray machine reveal something else

What is the underlining pain that
Has brought them to this place
Where one cannot even talk in a civil tone

Would the x-ray machine reveal the hurt and pain
The unresolved issues that have been buried year after year
The layers of  neglect
The I don't give a dam attitude

What would the x-ray reveal?
Loss
Illness
Un-forgiveness
Low self esteem
What would the x-ray reveal?

Was there any hope at all?
What could the x-ray machine reveal
Could this relationship be saved
Could there be resolve and healing
Even after all this time of neglect

The only hope left was to termite the relationship
A new beginning that would bring them both hope
That they could be happy once again
To be loved for who they are
To be healed from all the hurt and pain

Water

Original page:

Water H2O
Water covers 70.9% of the earth
It is vital for all known forms of life
Drinking water is essential to humans and other life forms
The human body contains 55% to 78% of water, depending on body size
The body requires approximately 2 liters (6 to 7 glasses) of water daily

References:
Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water

Original page:

Jesus is our source of Living water:

For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring... Isaiah 44:3

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:13-14

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) John 7:2,37-39

There is so much on water. One could write a book.
But I thought that these two covered the most important.

Do you like drinking water? Do you get your 8 glasses a day in?

Unexpected

Unexpected was the gift from my daughters.
The unexpected ticket to come and visit them in California.
It had been eleven months since I had been down for a visit.
I usually visit at least two to three times a year.
But with the raising cost of tickets and gas;
 Among a few other expenses.
I have put traveling on the back burner.
But my oldest daughter had other ideas.
Heather had asked when I was coming for a visit,
It had been sometime since I had been down.
My answer was
"When hell freezes over!"
She laughed and asked again
"Really mom when are you coming down?"
Again my answer was
"When hell freezes over!"
"Mom!"
"You heard me.
I just really don't have the money for a flight at this time;
Nor is it looking really good in the near future."
Phone call later from daughter.
"Mom, what are you doing for Easter?"
"I'm going to grandma's; why?"
Unexpectedly she says to me.
"Mom, I want to buy you a ticket to come down here for a visit."
WOW!
I was speechless.

As I knew she really didn't have the fiances to give such a wonderful gift as a round trip ticket to come for a visit.
Being a single mom to four kids and helping her sister and her four kids.
Makes money really tight in her household for all.
As fiances are tight for many of us these days.
And her youngest sister preparing for her husband to leave for military service;
And adjusting to him not being there.
Things have been really rough for them all.
Each struggling with their own sets of issues and various needs.
Amber had been very ill as well and rushed to the hospital.
So for this wonderful gift to be given at this time was:
HUGE!
This was a truly unexpected gift from my daughters given with the heart of love.

Well...
Easter wasn't going to work out and the cost was much more than either of us expected.
Later that day she called again.
"Mom we really want you to come."
"Heather where are you going to get the money?"
Unexpectedly she tells me,
"I have been saving to take the kids to Disneyland. I will take the money from there."
I told her
"Honey that is so nice but you shouldn't take from them what you have been saving for for a long time."
"Mom, its okay! I don't have enough money yet anyways and God will bring in more. The extra work to make up for what I have spent to bring you here. Besides the kids want to see you."
"Oh! Heather! What a wonderful gift you are giving me."
Still totally unsure if this is what I should do.
So the search was on for the ticket.
Which was found later that afternoon.
So an unexpected name change has come about through this ticket.
My grandchildren now are calling me the "Disney Mema".
An unexpected gift that is bringing much joy and

Transportation

With me traveling I thought modes of transportation.
There are so many forms to travel by.
There is the family car
Which is one of my favorite forms of transportation.
As it gets me back and forth from work.
To do my shopping
Pay bills
Go and visit family and friends
To mention a few

There is the train
Which I find most relaxing and enjoyable.
I get to rest and view the countryside as I travel to my destination.
And of course if it is a long trip you have the choice of the sleeper car.

How bout the horse and buggy?
Maybe just the horse?

I love horse back riding.
Or maybe you have gotten to ride in a stage coach.
I have on one of my many adventures traveling across this great country of ours.

Bus!
Now that is a form of traveling I'm not so fond of.
We go to school by bus when we are children
I traveled from California to Oregon by bus when I was in my late teens and early twenties.
Not my preferred choice of travel mode at all.
I felt like I a sardine in a can.
Though it is a great way to leave the driving to someone else.
Its not real expensive either.

The air plane which is how I'm traveling to see my children and grandchildren.
Love to fly!
Get there in record time.

So that you have extra time to spend with those you love.
Or maybe the work that you need done.
Or is ti the dream vacation?
The one thing I don't like is the time I spend at the air port to get to my destination.

There is the truck.
There are many different trucks.
Some for transportation of goods.
Working trucks
Trucks for fun!
OH!
Hauling trucks.

The hot air balloon!
I have never been in one.

But do think it would be fun!
This is on my bucket list of things I would like to do.

There is the boat.
So much fun!
There is the sail boat
Which I have enjoyed
The speed boat that I have skied behind
The fishing boat which I have sat and relaxed in the Summer sun in
The cruises ship
Another on the bucket list of things to do
Oh many kinds of boats and ships.

There is the bicycle
That was one of my very first modes of transportatio

Service

Service is something that seems harder and harder to find in this growing world of technology
Service is what you once got when you went to get gas
They would service the car
They would pump your gas
You never got out of the car
They would clean the windows
 Check the fluids
The air in the tires
Hmmm.....
I sure miss that!

Service was when I went to the bank they knew my name and what I did for a living
They knew my Auntie Em
And knew that the kids where fighting the flu

It was going to the locale market and and Fred the butcher knew how I liked my meat cut and wrapped

Service was someone on the other end of the phone asking me "How can I help you?"
And not some machine telling me to press this button and that button to get to another machine that tells me to push more buttons and it goes on and on
As you continue to push you just wish you could speak to a human voice to get where you need

Service is a greeting with a smile
That says "I'm glad you are here"
Because of you I have a job
Thank you!

The clerk that will help you find something and not be irritated because they have to help you and doesn't act like you are an inconvenience to help
The clerk that wants to make sure your experience was a good one and that you found everything you needed and then some
That was happy you came to do business with them

It is the waitress at the restaurant who greets you with a smile
Then sits you with a nice tall glass of water with a menu
That is prompt in taking your order and lets you know the specials without you asking
That never lets your water or coffee cup get half empty
That checks to make sure everything is alright and to your liking

Services which seems to be lacking in this ever growing world of technology
Replaced with what can I get out of you
Instead of how can I help you and make your experience a good one.

These are just a few of the services that I miss!

What service do you miss that is longer provided?

Race

I like the word race today for many reasons for the letter
"R"
As I am in a race to get all the letters of the alphabet done before I fly out to see my children and grandchildren
So that each letter will post up each day while I'm gone
As I write something about each letter left
Each one scheduled
So they will pop up in a timely fashion
Upon the day that they are to show
Then I will have completed my second time around in the
A-Z challenge
I can say "I did it!"

Then when I arrive home I will have lots of reading and catching up to do.
As I will want to read all the post that I have missed from each of you
Then I will be in a race to read as many blogs as I can
To post back comments to all those who kindly stopped by and left a word for me
To each of you I say thank you so much
I will look forward to visiting you all when I arrive home once again
From my lovely little visit and vacation with my family

There are so many kinds of races
I shall mention a few:
Their is the car race
The race to get ready for work in the morning
The relay race
Boat race
The race to be the best
The race to the top
The race to grow up/then realizing we shouldn't have raced through
The race of life

But my race is to get ready to travel
To pack
To have everything in order and done before I leave
The race to get there and love on my family
The race to see each smile and receive each hug and kiss
To hold unto each one for as long as I can
The race of time that I want to stop
To hold each moment just a bit longer

So as I race out the door to catch that plane
Please know I will be back before you blink
Well.....
Maybe not!
I will see each of you next month
Please enjoy the race to compilation.
I hope you enjoy mine as I race to complete them
Have a pleasant end of the month
Enjoy the journey as you read each day
Blessings

What are you in a race for?

Accountability ~ With Gym and Workouts

Original page:
Well I did mange to get up and go to the gym today! Yea! I wanted to be here as I knew going to Sacramento, chances of me getting the kind of exercise that I have been doing here wont happen there. Though I do know I will be chasing ten grandchildren and running all over the place. Which is a exercise in of it self. I think that is how I stayed so thin when i was younger. I chased after my three girls, then ran all over the place doing things. Going out dancing in the evening didn't hurt at all either. I do miss that! I'm still not packed but wanted to get on here and get my blogs per-scheduled up and get this one wrote and up as well. I love trying to complete a challenge. Not so easy when you are traveling with no access to a computer.
So today I did 150 sit up with 40 pounds of weight.
Arm curls 3 sets of 5 with 20 pounds of weight
20 minutes on the bicycle
35 minutes on the NuStep
Then this horrible little stair master; I only lasted two minutes on it.
OH Well!
Not fun at all!
Dear hubby doesn't this for an hour or more when he goes.
The girls today did it I believe for 30 minutes
YIKES!
But I mange to get a good work out in before I leave.
YEA!

Do you use the StairMaster in your exercise program?

Accountability ~ With Gym and Workouts

Well I almost didn't make it in time to work out with one of my work out partner's. I was having so much fun catching up on some blog reading this morning. I lost all track of time. And we all know I cannot call that an exercise or a workout. Well.... maybe that isn't totally true. It is a work out to catch up on all the blogs that I am reading; and to type up a great post. But I didn't realize I needed to get running out the front door for at least a short work out this morning. I am as well behind in getting my packing and orders put together for my trip. I have to go out to the garage tomorrow and get my spiral perm rods out as the two older girls want to have their beautiful locks permed. Now that will be a work out when I get there. Today I did have a wonderful time on the tread mill catching up with my girlfriend. Thank you Cindy for your awesome support and encouragement! I did 55 minutes on the tread mill. Like I said it was a short work out. But I at least got one in. With the foot hurting and the hive break out its a wonder I even made it. Hoping to get at least one more work out before I leave for California. My work out there will be chasing after 10 grandchildren; as well as running around catching up with friends; making a few business calls and delivers. I'm really glad I have been getting in at least an hour when I do go or more. I now feel the difference when I don't go and work out. easy to fall out of this great habit though. So I need to keep pushing my self and being faithful to my goal.
{Workout for April 18th 2012 late posting}

Are you ready for the Spring and Summer fashions?

Q

Quiet

The sound that is pure stillness
It is the totally stillness and quiet of the early morning
Or the evening hour when all the lights have been shut off
When all are tucked in to dreamland until the morning light

It is the quiet on the trail heads when I go hiking
When all I hear is the call of nature
The breeze that whispers through the forest
Singing a love song to all who will listen

Quiet is when I get up early
Put on the coffee and sit in the stillness as I say my morning prayers
As I speak and listen to the Father above

It is the time just before a big test.
That quiet of the brains humming with the tapping of the pencil
Wishing the test was over
Knowing that you past
Because you were up all night studying until you fall asleep
With you nose in the book

Quiet is that moment when you are sitting on the edge
Waiting for that perfect moment to scream
To hear the echo of your voice
Across the miles
As it races through the air

Quiet is that moment of time after the baby has cried and cried
Then suddenly there is nothing
But...
That total silence
Knowing the baby is now fast asleep

Quiet is nap time after a long afternoon at the park

Quiet is that moment and space in time when nothing is heard
But the sounds that runs the house
The business
The city
The humming that low pitch sound
The noise of nature
Blissfully living its life

It is the love of being where
I can view nature in its fullness and hear
The love songs of the birds
As they go about their business

Quiet is the evening sunset with the one you love
Where no words are exchanged
But the look and the touch
That says that was beautiful
No words needed
Just that moment of
Perfect love
Peace and quiet

So many things can be found in the quiet and the stillness
Resting in the Father who first loved me

As I write in the late night
With the quietness surrounding me
As I tap the keys

Quietness is wherever I can catch that moment of sanity to regain
My peace of mind.

Where do you find your quietness?
