DAY 59

Rockin' Snowmen

Jazzy Bagels
Display case
Gresham, Oregon
December 26, 2013
http://jazzybagels.com/
Yesterday I meet up with the girls for some coffee, bagels and some shopping.
What a great day it was too!
As many of you know I have a snowman affair and a collection of them.
This was in the display case at Jazzy Bagels here in Gresham.
I just fell in love with this limo and snowman display.
I was trying to figure out how i could own him
There were actually several snowman throughout the day I ran across that I would have loved to have.
But I did behave a little bit.

Snowman Affair!
As you see I didn't come home empty handed.
The cute little blue and white snowman was found in the thrift store and my dear sweet friend Edie purchased him for me. I can put a photo on him.
The red and white guy I got at the antique store. He is vintage and I had to have him. I wasn't leaving without this one.
He was a bargain at that too.
So yes! Two more to the snowman family at our house.
I wanted to buy more but .....I did refrain from purchasing any others.
There was one I would have bought had he been for sale. But he was a window display.
I wish I had taken a photo of him.
He was gorgeous!
I have been having fun with the snowmen this year.
I'm really not wanting to put them away when time comes around.
I may leave a few out this year.

Do you have a hard time refraining from purchasing additions to your collections?

Christmas Story

MERRY CHRISTMAS

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS

Luke 2:1-20

New International Version (NIV)

The Birth of Jesus

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,

and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

A Bit Of Christmas In Florida

Ringling Museum & Estate
December 2013
One of the many photos I took while in Florida.
It was a beautiful day at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota.
This was on the back side of the Estate of the home he built his wife looking into the Bay.
We sat there for a while and just took it all in.
So breathe taking.

Do you like to just sit and take in all the beauty that surrounds you?

Another evening of music.
This evening I went to church to watch the Christmas musical of the birth of Our Lord and Savior.
It was amazing!
They did a narrative with pictures and dramatization along with music.
I saw things I never noticed about the readings before.
Thank you Lord for revealing more of you to me this evening.
I love the Christmas story!
As we come into this Holy week; I was wondering if I was going to feel and find the Christmas spirit.
I have!
As it truly dwells within each of us.
Thank you Lord for sending your Son to dwell with us.

Just fell in love with this beautiful nativity displayed in the lobby as you entered the sanctuary.
It was a wonderful evening with desserts after the musical.
A time of fellowship and sharing.
I was blessed to see some I hadn't seen in a very long time and wish many a very Merry Christmas.

Grotto Lights

Some of the many lights of over 500,000.
 Lighting the evening sky with the beauty and magic;
As you walked through the garden of lights listening to the sounds of Christmas all around you.

Nativity Scene Grotto

A breathe taking life size Nativity.
The reason for the season.
Why I celebrate Christmas!
The birth of our King and Savior!
I remember coming here as a young girl.
They had a life size Nativity back then as well.
Somewhere in my many photos I have a picture of the original Nativity that was used here up until a few years ago.

Prayer Trees
Grotto
Christmas 2013
Every year they have prayer trees set up in the upper gift store. Hundreds and hundreds of prayers are placed upon these trees. They will be praying over each one. When you read some they just break your heart. Thank you that we know the heart of Jesus is to answer each one in His perfect will. I pray that each pray be meet and that those whom placed them there would feel the love of the Lord as He answers each one in His perfect timing.
As always I add a few of my own to the tree of prayers. It seems I could make my own hundreds and hundreds of prayers. Thankfully I know the Lord knows each one and I know He is working on them all.
I thank you Lord for answering these prayers wrote in love with hope hang with care. For each prayer request that is not hang but carried in our hearts. I thank you that you know and answer before we have even asked.

Grotto Candles
December 2013

Candles lit win memory and for prayers.
Each with love burning brightly to the Father in heaven.
This evening I had the honor of lighting two candles with my friend Edie, who went to the grotto with me this evening. For friends and family and a loss of a life way to young taken from us yesterday December 20th on his way home from work.
For health and healing and celebrating a loved ones live.
Cherished these lights burn as the light of the Son burns in us.
Thank you Lord for this night of celebration of lights, music, and prayers;
As we are reminded that your Son is the true gift to this dying world.

DAY 55

Christmas On The Beach

Christmas 2013
While in Florida I did do lots of shopping the kind that we girls have been know to call "Shop till you drop!" Had a great time looking and finding great little trinkets and little treasures of the great time I had there.
I found two ornaments for my Christmas tree. I use to have memory tree that I put up every year. On the tree where special ornaments represents that Christmas and Christmas pass and all the blessings of the past year. I don't do those any more. But...I do still love purchasing memory ornaments. I even found some great ones for my grandchildren. I mailed them off today. They should arrive in Santa's bag on the 24th!!!
I love this ornament as it reminds me of the fun I had in Florida and the at I was truly on beach time at Christmas.
Christmas 2013
This ornament I just wasn't to sure about. But my girlfriend encouraged me to get this one. It reminded her of all the Maxine comics I post all the time on Face Book. I think she reminds me of .....{Maybe my future in the sun!} Mostly a good time and the love, laughter and joy of the entire Christmas trip to visit my dear friend Crystal, in Florida. I thank her and her hubby for the blessings and the gifts they showered me with while there. A reminder of how much the Lord loves us that He showers us daily with His perfect love, blessings of gifts and joy and endless other gifts daily; if we just stop and relax and open the gifts presented us. Thank you Lord for blessing me through others in my journey through this life.
So many more gifts to unwrap daily as the Lord awakes us each new day;  filled with gifts for us to unwrap and open for our enjoyment. I think I will take this sweet ladies idea of sitting on the inner tube and just relax and enjoy the journey and open all the gifts presented to me each and everyday.

Do you Like special ornaments that hold treasured memories to display at Christmas time?
