Christmas Song~ Becky Kelley - Where's the Line to See Jesus

Christmas Palmetto, Florida 2013

This was passed onto me through a very dear friend! I went and spent a week with her and her husband this December! While I was there I was looking for Christmas.
This song says the way I feel about looking for Christmas. I get excited and like a child I get caught up in the wrappings of Christmas.
But I look for Christmas in all the excitement as a child waiting for Christmas morning. Looking for the hope we will find in our Savior Jesus sent from heaven above for us all.
I would love to thank my girlfriend Crystal for sharing this song with me. I pray you enjoy it as much as I do. I just had to share this with you all.
My week in Florida was amazing and a true gift from heaven. I did find signs of Christmas but they were far and few in the decorations and celebrations you would normally find this time of year in shopping malls and housing tracks.
I do believe Christmas is in our hearts and soul celebrated everyday of the year not just one day out of the year. But this is my most very favorite time of year to sing His praises and glory of the birth of His son Jesus sent for me and you. It is the time I celebrate the gift of my Savior sent for you and me, His birthday! The reason for the season; the reason I celebrate the love that was sent from heaven above to you and me.
I do love Santa and all the magical moments seen in the eyes of children. I become like a child myself. I love Christmas lights that lead me to the true light of Christmas the Savior {JESUS}! I love Christmas snow and snowman! I love the purity of it all. It is how I know Jesus sees me through the Christ child His son through His blood that makes me pure as the white snow.
I want to be the first in line to see Jesus!
I love going to see Christmas lights, Christmas plays, I love going to Midnight service on Christmas Eve; and singing Christmas songs {all season long}. I love old sappy Christmas movies and Hallmark Christmas along with all the children's cartoons that ring in the season. I love Christmas traditions old and new. I love the Christmas story of our Lord Jesus! I love it all! It is the celebration of the one that first loved me!
I know that it is so easy to get caught up in all the rush and hubba of the season. I do as well. But....I do look for Jesus! I make a point to find Him in the gifts He displays daily for me through the eyes of the children. I look for Him in the Christmas lights hang so carefully with care. I look for Him in the Christmas tree and ornaments that are displayed so proudly in our homes. I look for Him in the joy of the moments with family and loved ones. I look for Him in the small and simple things like baking Christmas cookies, I look for Him while shopping for that perfect gift for that special someone. I look for Christmas in all that we take for granted. I love the joy in my heart when I think of all the things the Lord blesses me with throughout the year.
I love that this is the time of year I can celebrate Him with the eyes and heart of a child. May I always be able to celebrate His son with a heart of a child; because I am His child. May I never loss that joy and curiosity of looking for Him in the simple and the beauty of each moment of each day. But may I never stop looking for Him in the lines and hearts of all during this most beautiful time of year Christmas! I will stand in the line to see Jesus ALL year anytime. Thank you Lord!
Below is the email sent with the link to this amazing song. Please enjoy as I did. Merry Christmas and remember the line to Jesus is always open.

From my dear friend Crystal! I love you!

About the Song

While at the mall a couple of years ago, my then four year old nephew, Spencer, saw kids lined up to see Santa Claus. Having been taught as a toddler that Christmas is the holiday that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus, he asked his mom, "where's the line to see Jesus"?
My sister mentioned this to my dad, who immediately became inspired and jotted words down to a song in just a few minutes. After putting music to the words, and doing a quick recording at home, he received a great response from friends. He sent the song off to Nashville without much response, except for a Christian song writer who suggested adding a bridge at the end of the first chorus. My dad then asked if I wanted to record the song to see what we could do with it. I listened to the song, made a few changes to the words to make it flow better, and we headed to Shock City Studios.

It was at the studio where Chris, owner and producer, rewrote the 2nd verse and part of the chorus... with goose bumps and emotions high, we were all hopeful and felt like we had something special. The demo was recorded in just under 2 hours and sent off again to Nashville... still no response.

Then 2 weeks before Christmas last year, my cousins Greg and Robbie decided to do a video to see what we could accomplish on YouTube. The first day we had 3000 hits and it soared from there. We received e-mails, phone calls, Facebook messages from people all over asking for the music, CD's, iTunes, anything... we had nothing. After a couple of meetings with Chris following the amazing response, we got serious. We headed back into the studio this past spring... this time with guitars, drums, bass, pianos, choirs... the real deal.... and here we are today.
Getting iTunes set up, a website put together, and loving that thousands upon thousands of Christians have come together... remembering the true meaning of Christmas. Out of the mouths of babes come profound truths that many adults can not understand. Hopefully Spencer's observation will cause people all over to reflect on the love of Jesus, and that one day we will all stand in line to see Him. We are most thankful to our Heavenly Father to have this chance to share our music with you. Merry Christmas everyone.

MERRY CHRISTMAS.....Just a bit early..............................
