The Clothespins

The Clothespins

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." (Eph 1:3) NIV

Seven empty clothespins. That's what I found when I went to take down yesterday's laundry. No doubt the kids found the need to liberate certain necessary garments from the line and had forgotten to put the pins away. Or maybe I had forgotten them myself, I don't know. The important thing was that they were there -- seven clothespins, empty, forgotten, their full potential completely untapped.

God's helping hand, His abundant blessings. That's what we find on the Heavenly clothesline. The help is there. The blessings are available. But if there is no person attached to them, they just sit, quite like the clothespins, empty and forgotten, their potential completely untapped.

God has a clothesline full of blessing and help hanging just over your head, my friends! All you have to do is attach yourself to one of His clothespins. God has done all that He can do. He, through Jesus, died on the cross and rose again to buy and pay for everything we will ever need. Healing. Comfort. Financial freedom. Strength. Help. Patience. It's all there! But He doesn't automatically attach Himself to you. He waits for you to come to Him! If you do, you will find yourself swinging from the Heavenly clothesline. Connected to the source. All the help and blessings you will ever need available at your fingertips..

But most will not accept that help. Most, in the face of difficulty, will disconnect themselves from the Heavenly clothesline. They will drop down from the clothespin of blessing and leave it dangling there, empty and forgotten.

It doesn't have to be this way, my friends. All we have to do is cling to the clothespin -- cling to the promise of His Word. When we do, we remain connected to the Heavenly clothesline, and no matter how strong the winds of trials may blow, we will stay attached until the trials have passed.

Some say, "God has given me more than I can bear."

Has He?

Or has He simply given you more than you, on your own, can deal with?

The next time it appears that God has given you more than you can bear, reach up for the Heavenly clothesline. Attach yourself firmly to it and stay connected through His promises.

Will you stay connected, friends? Or will you, at the signs of strong winds -- trials and tribulation -- leave the clothespins hanging empty and forgotten, their potential completely untapped?

The choice is yours!

Love in Christ,

Lyn

Sent to me when I was feeling out on a limb by a friend. I don't know this wonderful woman who wrote this and sent it on. But I do know that this is true. All we do need to do is attach ourselves to Him and we will sail through the wind and all will be fine on our way on this side to Victory. He didn't say it would be easy He said He would be with us and never leave us.

Do you ever feel disconnected and hanging out to dry alone?
