Rocking By The Fire
Barlow Trail Roadhouse January 11, 2014 |
On Saturday two of my wonderful girlfriends and I drove up to Welches to the Barlow Trail Roadhouse for a late breakfast early lunch.
We had wanted to be there earlier as we got a late start. But unknown to us it was a good thing.
They had just opened up due to weather outage from the storm.
It was great to be sat next to the fireplace in the restaurant.
We had a wonderful breakfast and coffee warming near the fire.
Then we leisurely sat for another hour visiting and laughing.
Was a wonderful late morning.
Then they told us that the bar next door through the other door was open and had a fireplace over there as well.
So we picked up our mugs and headed on over to the other warm spot in the Barlow Trail roadhouse.
Where we sat and laughed for another five hours.
It was our mini vacation away from home.
About half hour forty five minutes away.
Perfect little get away.

As you see we were having way to much fun. Rocking away in the chair next to the fire drinking my coffee and enjoying the great company I was with.
It was so relaxing we didn't want to come home.
We thought if it snowed we would stay at the Resort Lodge down the road.
Call hubby's and tell them they were on their own until the snow melted.
Really? It would be fun just to do that one weekend and break away.
May just have to do that.
Barlow Trail Roadhouse has quite a history, it was built in 1926 when they where building the Mt. Hood Lodge on the mountain.
This was a bordello and tavern.
You can see were the rooms use to be.
It has been fixed up really cute and is so relaxing.
It is a log building with a beautiful wrap around porch.
Have been up here many times as the food is excellent and it is a very relaxing atmosphere.
I had a great mini get away for a few hours to refresh and relax!
To let the world go by and not worry about anything but relaxing and forgetting about the outside world.

As the day came to a close it was time to say goodbye to this most comfortable rocking chair near the fire and to turn it over to one of the many that had recently came in and sat near were we where sitting at.
I know we will be back and we will sit and rock again and solve all those problems next to a warm fire in a perfect cup of coffee with some good friends and laughter.
Memories and joys in a mini vacation not far from home can bring new light on any situation.
Going back in time and sitting and not worrying about the worries of the day but only the moment you are in creates peace and joy. May you come rock with me by a fire and let all the problems of the day and life pass you by.
Blessing my friends.

Day 13 3 Things about yourself you are grateful for
Ewwwwwwwww......I hate challenges like this one! But if your going to be grateful for everything I guess I would be apart of that that I must thank the Lord for....... So....here goes....
1. My eyes~ I have really pretty eyes and I love that I can see all the beauty around me and that I can see how truly rich I am with these beautiful eyes the Lord has blessed me with.
2. That I pretty much fly by the seat of my pants and worry about results later. I live life fully in the moment and really don't think about the consequences until after the fact.
3. That I am a true blue friend
