Waiting

This beautiful statue and welcome is sitting next door.
I really think that both yard pieces are waiting upon Spring and Summer, just as I am.
I love how the little boy looks like he is praising the joy of the day and all the Lord has gifted him with.
The butterfly that represents the new life and new day of beginnings everyday.
Nothing better than joy with a breathe into the new day of smiles and sunshine!
Nice to know one is welcome!
Bright colors and joy felt!
Just pure joy!

Do you love yard decor?

Book

My book arrived today in the mail.
I am so excited!
My girlfriend told me about this book.
Though I had heard about it before.
But really didn't pay much attention to it.
But .... with my health being a main focus.....
This was the time.

I know I need to lose weight.
Exercise more...
Which I have been trying to do.
Though the next step I believe is getting back to the gym.
Just wish I could find a work out partner.
Have lots of friends willing to be my accountability partner.
But still need someone to exercise with!
Thank you Lord for all the support!

As I was just flipping through the book checking it out I found some great inspiration.
Found this to be interesting.
Though it shouldn't surprise me.
As they say set yourself around those you most want to be like.....
So...
Why not in health too!

This one I had already learned when I was doing the Prism program a few years back.
So I know I'm on track with this great piece of information.
Not always the easiest thing to do.
It takes lots of effort on my part.
One I hate grocery shopping.
Not much of a cook and not creativity enough in the kitchen.
But am learning.
Not to mention I find it more expensive to shop fresh.
Hope to find some great ideas in this book.
Should be fun....
If nothing else interesting as well as educational.

Journaling
Another thing we learned in the Prism program that I'm not real good at.
I also was doing this for awhile when I had all my mouth problems that I still deal with.
Just really not good at journaling about my food.
I'm sure there is a good reason and purpose.
As I recall it helps show eating patterns as well as why and how much etc.
As well as the emotional aspect of eating habits.
Helps with dealing with why?
I'm sure we will learn more as I read the book.
I'm going to try real hard to follow the plan set before me.

And the book begins.
Please pray with me as I start this forty day journey.
One of the things I'm excited about this book is it is by Rick Warren, who wrote "The Purpose Driven Life".
I read that book twice and really felt like I grew a lot from that experience.
Feeling hope and success here.
He has another book I'm interested in as well.
"What On earth Am I Here For"
Something to look forward to in the future.
As all of his books require time and mediation and working it out.
Never have been disappointed by books that make me work out a bit so that I grow into the person I am created to be.
With faith and work believe in who first loved me,
All things are possible.
Looking forward to the end results of health and fitness.

Do you struggle with weight and eating disorders? What do you do? What helps you?

Family

Bob, Sonja, Nick, Hubby
January 27, 2014

Hubby went to California for a visit.
Sadly he didn't get to see the children or grands as their schedules didn't work out as planned.
But he did get to see other family while visiting.
He saw his beautiful sister and her wonderful husband.
And one of his oldest and dearest friends since he was a mere child of 6.
Along with some other friends from childhood and new friends as well.
They had a wonderful time reminiscing of days gone by.
Horse back riding and lots of laughter and food.
Wish I could have been there.
Happy to have the picture.

Do you live near your family? Do you spend lots of time with them and old childhood friend?

Day 25

A grace borrowed, found, inherited

Well I'm not sure how well I will do with these three.....
A grace borrowed would most likely be the Joy dare challenge that I do that I found through my blogging a few years ago on A Holy Experiencehttp://www.aholyexperience.com/ What a fun inspirational place to go and visit! Also on Face Book Ann Voskamp. She post the Joy Dare every month along with great tips for growing spiritual and living a simple life.
My found grace would be my attitude today as I had several things that I am working on and it takes the right attitude and positivity. Thank you Jesus!
Inherited would be being able to pray. Grandma and mom both set and taught us wonderful examples of praying growing up.

Edgefield

Edgefield
Troutdale, Oregon
1/22/2014
Today was an interesting day.
I had to go to DMV but also was getting together with a girlfriend and another friend for lunch to gather information as I prepare to purchase a home in the coming year.
I'm believe God is leading me in this direction and this is my time.
Long story there.
Never have owned a home so this is exciting!
I am looking forward to this new chapter and adventure in my life.
Which is interesting that we picked this site for our meeting place.
It was the Poor House according to all Historical information.
Maybe the perfect place to meet.
Wonderful food!
The Edgefield is full of very interesting things and I'm sure information as well.
I look forward to visiting here again.
I plan on taking the tour and visiting the spa and other areas that I didn't see today.
I think the Spring would be a great time when everything is in bloom
Interestingly enough this place is down the street from my home.
I knew it was here but had never been here or visited.
I know I want to come back and explore.

Edgefield
Troutdale, Oregon
1/22/2014
So this fun little photo made me feel like I was "Alice In Wonderland" going through the looking glass.
I love how they had this pole with arrows directing you the direction of all the things of interest.
I think the winery should be on my list of things to do as well here.

Edgefield
Troutdale, Oregon
1/22/2014
They had these lighted flames throughout the grounds here.
I just was amazed by them and how close they where to the trees and shrubs.
This turned out beautiful!
The building in the background was where we had lunch at today.
It was called the "Power Station".
Edgefield
Troutdale, Oregon
1/22/2014
The back side of the "Power Station" which I'm  sure in Spring and Summer is just beautiful!
I really need to take the tour and find out why the names of the buildings and what the meaning is of each one.
I understand this place is haunted.
I don't know if that is true or not.
One of my friends said there is a hotel here as well.
I know there where lots of restaurants and pubs along with the spa and winery and did I mention golf course as well.
Guess it gives me something to do in the Spring.

Edgefield
Troutdale, Oregon
1/22/2014
I saw this sphere on top of a pole over one of the building that housed the "Smoke Room".
So many interesting building and places on this property.
Lots to explore and see.

Edgefield
Troutdale, Oregon
1/22/2014
The window to the smoke room.
Which I really thought was cool.
I'm not a smoker never have been.
But thought it was really cool!
And it was warm inside too!

Edgefield
Troutdale, Oregon
1/22/2014
A wonderful spot to warm yourself by.
They were stoking the fire as we walked up.
I was so cold I wanted to crawl inside.
They had these fires pits at various ares on the property as well.
People actual standing around them enjoying the warmth of the fire.

Me wanting to crawl inside the warm!
It was such a wonderful day.

Got my DMV done!
Meet up with friends for a long lengthy lunch and enjoyed the campus on this property.

We were laughing and having a great time.
Thanks for coming on my adventure with me.

I love this photo of my nephew Jonathan Good and my two best pals who are waiting at Rainbow Bridge for me Luke and CK. Nothing better than friends and they surely were friends all three of them; the best of friends!  A friend brings richest to the heart and treasures that are memorable for a live time and I have been richly blessed with many thank you Lord for those rich friends that I treasure so much.

    Day 22
    A gift wrinkled, smoothed, unfolded

These sound like I'm doing the laundry.....lol

My wrinkled gift truly was my wrinkled sweater I wore today. It was wadded up in a ball full of wrinkles. So I shook it out and put it on anyways knowing the wrinkles would fall out. And they did!
Smoothed would be how smoothly going to the DMV actually went. I wasn't happy about the whole DMV thing as most don't like going anyways. Lines and more lines with grumpy people and never fun! The people at the DMV have no sense of humor and never ever smile; worse than the TSA! Thank goodness for some friendly young man who made the stay more smoothed and pleasant. I hope his day got smoother as well. So that was my smooth!
Unfolded would be how the day unfolded into a wonderful long long long lunch withMary McCormick Loomis and Nancy. Got some great information and looking forward to see the direction all this takes me. Thank you Lord for the unfolding of this day I am never disappointed in what you set before.
