Needs Tending

Looking at my sad flower pots.
Thinking it should be about that time when I start cleaning these pots out.
Ready to get ready for Spring and blooming flowers once again.

My patio still looking so barren and sad.
Needing some freshening up.
Maybe some cutting back and cleaning of the flower pots.
A little sprucing up may bring some hope of Spring to this little space in the world.

Even the water bowl for the animals looks as though it needs a little freshening up.
I know the neighbor had that there for her sweet little pets.
They had adopted my patio when they moved in.
So she put water between the pots.
When she freshens the pots get watered.
Maybe why I still have some greener in my pot here.

As I look at my patio I so want to get out and clean the pots.
Maybe if the weather stays sunny this weekend I may get out and at least weed and cut back all the dead out.
So longing for the new beginnings and the Spring sunshine and weather.

Upside Down
This one was a bit of a challenge for me.
I couldn't find anything upside down while I was at work.
Then as they day dwindled away ......I was thinking oh I have to get something upside down.
No kinds to turn upside down....
So I was the upside event.
Remind you of the "BIG HAIR DAYS?"
Accomplished!

Candid Moments

Josef Originals

When my mom was young girl when she still was living at home.
She started collecting Josef Originals.
Our home as a child was filled with them.
To be looked at and not touched.
My moms pride collection.
Oh I loved them too.
So pretty and elegant!

Then purple lady as I have dubbed her.
My favorite of them all.
I think I played with her when I was young and took her off the shelf.
Oh the trouble I got into.
She got broke too.
Restored back to her elegant beauty.
Mom's collection has grown over the years.
She has honored me with many pieces of her collection.
Lots of the music box collection pieces.
I'm still waiting on the purple lady here!

Another favorite of mine in her collection.
Truly I think they all are my favorites.
I love them all!
I'm not sure when these two made their appearance.
I think long after I left home.
But the couple have surly become a favorite.
I look forward to adding more pieces to my very small collection.
One day I may have some of these beauties.
Sweet reminders of my childhood and the love my mom has for these well crafted porcelain dolls.

{LAUGHING}
1. Spending most my day sitting and waiting on my beautiful ladies to make them feel and look like a million bucks.
2. Mary coming in two weeks after her haircut telling me I cut it way to short and that I don't have the right equipment when I did her hair. I used what I had and I cannot glue back on. {Shaking head} Did exactly what she asked! {Smiling}

Afternoon Views

February 23, 2014
This photo was so awesome to me!
I didn't realize how many dogs I had captured in the lens.
I was so excited!
I think this is one of my favorite photos from Sunday at "Thousand Arces: Dog Park"
I loved seeing all the dogs playing.
People are so friendly.
Dogs running around,
People actual speaking to one another and saying hello!
Life couldn't be better than this!

February 23, 2014
Even people out on horseback with their dogs.
Everyone stops and talks with one another.
Kids on bikes and mom's and dad's pulling wagons while dogs run around playing.
It has to be the best play ground around in my book!
Endless trails running along the river.
It is so beautiful!
I can hardly wait till Spring and Summer to come out and play here.

February 23, 2014
This photo is at Multnomah Falls
It is the bridge I cross over to get to the Falls from the parking area off the freeway.
I just loved the bare branch reaching over the water in front of the bridge.
It was such a great day for an afternoon outing of fun!

February 26 ~
Stranger

At first I dint think I was going to be able to get this one done.
But I did accomplish it when I went to get my mail.
There was a young couple standing outside.
The postman wasn't finished at the mail boxes yet.
Then there were some repair men working on the grounds behind my apartment building in another area of the apartments.
So many strangers on a late Winter afternoon in the cold.

"Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me."
~Psalm 23:4

Day 26 ~
3 Gifts seen as reflection
1. When I work on my taxes it is always a reflection of last years earnings and spending. Gods amazing provision seen through it all.
2. Looking over bills and seeing what is truly important to spend our money on and what is a waste of our hard earn money. Re evaluating what our spending should be on what is considered luxury items and bills.
3. Seeing photos of loved ones as they have grown through the years and what wonderful children they are as they have grown into amazing young adults and parents.. So proud of each and everyone that I have had in my circle of life, as the years have passed. Thank you Lord for my three and all the many you have richly blessed into my life through friends and family.

Candid Moments

Multnomah Falls

February 23, 2014
One of my favorite spots in the world
Is Multnomah Falls only about 15 minutes from the house down I-84 heading east.
This was taken from the parking lots from the freeway side.
It always refreshes me.
I never tire of going there.
The beauty so inspiring year round.

February 23, 2014
On January 9, 2014 a rock went through the bridge causing huge damage and the closer of it until repaired.
You can see it in the right hand corner.
There are several article's on the damage to the bridge as well as some amazing photos.
Here is one link:

http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2014/01/rock_smashes_through_deck_hand.html

February 23, 2014
I really would love to hike up to the bridge and look through the fenced area and maybe get some photos of the damage done.
But when I went up on Sunday it was late in the afternoon and I surely wasn't dressed for the adventure.
I just had a light jacket on
It gets pretty darn cold up there near the water and there was still snow on the ground with rain on its way.
So i just took a few snaps and had a polish dog and ice cream as I enjoyed the beauty.

February 23, 2014
It really seems strange not seeing anyone on the bridge.
you can see the very tall fencing they have up.
I'm sure some idiots will try and climb over.
I pray not as it is truly dangerous.

February 23, 2014
This was one of my favorite photos I snapped on Sunday!
Love how the angle is with the snow bank in front of the Falls.
To think when I was a child I use to swim in this area.
They now have it blocked off totally for safety reasons.
Falling rocks is a common thing in the Columbia Gorge.
We have had several falling rocks and land slide this year.
Causing not just the closure of this National site but our Highways as well.
Due to safety we have had to take alternate routes.

February 23, 2014
A different angle of the bridge so you can see the hole where the rock went through.
Pretty amazing no one got hurt.
I have stood in the spot I cannot tell you how many times.
It gets very crowded on the bridge and sometimes I just don't want to cross over due to the crowds.
That spot is a great view to look down and to look across.
Usually I'm looking down or at whoever I left on the viewing point.

February 23, 2014
 Multnomah Lodge
It is a great little place to have lunch.
It houses a visitors center, gift shop and other little venues as well.
I was finishing up my ice cream before I headed back home.
I love the peacefulness of the views and stillness.
No matter the time of year it is a place to come and reconnect.
I could sit and just think and clear my head.
Thank you Lord for this amazing place so close to home.

February 23, 2014
Beth
A nice young couple asked if they could take a picture of me in front of the Falls.
I was so excited as I was trying to do a selfie.
I in turn took a few of them.
As you see I wasn't dressed for this adventure at all.
Adorned in full colors of Spring!
All in all it was a lovely day.
Glad I took the adventure down the road for a short afternoon trip.
Glad you could stop by and enjoy the beauty.
Don't forget to leave a comment love to know you stopped in.
Blessings

Do you enjoy little Winter adventures out even if they are short ones? Where is your peaceful place to go?

Day 24~ Playing
This was a fun one to do!
As i love playing and I say I work to play hard.

I was searching for some special photos but couldn't find them. I must of ditched them somewhere and now cannot be found.
But the one of the dog playing in the water puddle was taken this weekend on my doggie outing with my friend Pat her her dog Mickey.
This guy was having so much fun with his frisbee and then the water puddle splashing about.
The one of the gentleman playing the guitar was in November when I went on a Mary Kay event to the beach. We went to an Irish pub for dinner and he was playing and singing.
We had a table right next to the stage.
What an excellent time and so much fun with great memories.

Day 25~
Recipes
So I really am not much of a Susie homemaker.
I really don't keep recipes around.
I would hire a baker and chef if I could.
Though I do know how to cook and bake both.
Not to shabby at it either just not my cup of tea.
So I took a picture of the Internet for today's challenge.
What is your favorite recipe?

"We know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose."

Dear Lord, as you give all on a day-to-day basis, help me to accept it in just that way.

Day 25 ~
A gift worn out, new, made-do
Well....these ones maybe a bit harder for me to do today!
My gift worn out would be a pair of my favorite sandals I have yet thrown away. As I think I will get one more Summer out of them. Trusty good pair of sandals and my favorites!
New would be a few tops I purchased in Florida when I was visiting and can hardly wait to wear them when the weather warms up here. It will be so nice to have them.
Made-do would be my blinds in the apartment. I so would love to have new ones some are broken and worn out; plus drapes would be so much nicer and keep the house warmer. But.....I'm making do with the ones we have.
