Playdate ~ Celebrations and Remembrance

Today just seems to be a recap of many things to me this past week.
The finger prints of remembrance.
We have had celebrations of a marriage, of royal magnitude; to celebrations of public enemy  number one's death.
The many silent heroes of those past and present.
Loved ones lost and still those waiting to come home.
We have had sober thoughts and awe of what destruction mother nature can cause.
To life's  that where lost to tornadoes of mass destruction.
With birthdays to celebrate yet another year of life and fulfillment.
We have had the wonderful celebration of Spring weather long awaited.
We have had personal Victories, with personal accomplishment and growth.
We have had a week of mile stones with much activities whirling about.
I had wanted to share about the wonderful weekend I had.
But in lew of the past evenings events and coming from a military family; one that has family members that are serving proudly. It just seemed appropriate to finger print those that helped bring down an enemy.
The hard work and efforts of many who fight valiantly daily to the protection of those in this country and around the world. Our silent heroes!
But this morning though I have wanted to write of other things which seem to be of a more happier note. It only seems fitting that we give thanks to those who helped bring down an enemy that threaten those around the world in terror.
So today my mind wanders to those who lost much and today have reason to celebration.

NIV
                                                 Psalm 110:1-3

The Lord says to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for my feet." The Lord will extend your mighty hand from Zion; you will rule in the midst of your enemies. Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn you will receive the dew of your youth.

A big thank you to each and all who have freely given and serve around the world for the freedoms of many. My prayers to those who have lost loved ones to the enemy. May the Lord hold you tightly in His loving arms until that finally meeting day in heaven when we all will be re-united with them once again. God bless each and everyone.

Do you have loved ones serving?

I echo that thanks, Beth! I stayed up way past my bedtime last night to wait for the president's address. It really was shocking...brought back so much pain. I know the Bible says not to rejoice over the defeat of an enemy, but there is so much tied up in this, isn't there? I can say I have mixed emotions, but mostly I am grateful that one who caused so much pain is not free to harm anymore. But evil will always be in this world. So, yes, grateful for those protecting arms.

Bless you, Dear one.

Bethe
thank you for the wonderful post today. I am so proud of our (special forces) troops for finally getting this slim bag once and for all. He is nothing but evil and will pay for that all through eternity.

I am proud of every one of our soldiers past, present and future.

Good to see you back ;) I missed your post and reading them

I do not have family over there serving, however I do write to soldiers all over the world through Soldiers Angels. Some have became very dear pen pals, while others I have never heard from.

Blessings
Gina

Well said Bethe, and I echo your sentiments exactly. My hubby was in the Armed Forces for 25 years and saw service in the Falklands, plus many times in Northern Ireland when the troubles were really bad.

It's good to remember the goodness of the Lord seen in so many ways this weekend. We are so grateful for those who protect us. Most of my family served in the military throughout the generations. I'm proud to be American and to have the Lord protecting me.

Blessings,
Janis
