The knock on the door brought the unbearable news
The loss of her husband
The man of her dreams
It was more than she could bare
The misery left her hollow inside
Which gave way to the shallow breathing
Her heart broken
As the tears streamed down her face
Staining it with the sweet dew drops
Of the innocence's of love
Left only in its wake a broken heart
Clutching to the papers that held the news
With memories rushing her mind
As it sinks in
The misery of loss
Would leave her hollow
Her life would seem so shallow
Without her husband  beside her side

Lovely poem today Bethe. The only time I have felt like this is when my mum and dad passed away. May I wish you and all your family a blessed Thanksgiving my friend.
