Couldn't limit myself to one photo today.
They go together.
This beautiful old building in downtown Portland.
I love the architecture of this building.

I do enjoy buildings..at first I had to stop and think of where you were..since there is Portland here in Maine..and beautiful old buildings in the Old Port..Don't you wish they could talk and tell you all the history? Just so interesting..
Have a happy day..xoCarolyn/Rosebud

I do love them! Once the 60's arrived much has changed in building, more are coming back though finally. Gone are the new metal and glass malls replaced with bricks and stone...I took the Amtrak to Portland, very long train ride from Minnesota, and a rental car to explore the coast and stay at Cannon Beach. There is so much right there, with the State of Washington too,Astoria! and lighthouses and a ship wreck on a beach, endless trees and beauty, and American history unveiled at the State Parks, truly a worthy dstination, besides the charm of Portland....

I love the old buildings when you can find them. Too many are being torn down and being shoved aside for the metal and glass malls being put up. I just wish there was some way for the walls to talk and tell us of their history and what they have seen. On second thought maybe some of those secrets should not be shared.
