As the sunlight penetrates through the drapes
I mumble as I stumble out of bed
I drag myself to the coffee maker
Only to hear the mumbles and grumbles
As the rest of the house drags themselves
Out from the dark rooms that are now penetrating with rays of sunlight

Playdate With God ~ Poolside

This week seemed to be full of mishaps from the gate.
But... the Lord never lets me down. Even in the mess of life and all the mishaps that happen one can find a simple play date and quiet moment with the Lord. And that is just what I did. It may not have been as easy as I like; but we found that quiet still moment when I can just sit and be in His presence. Even in a noise messy week where voice's and life is happening faster than I can keep up with. Praise the Lord for these stolen moments together to hear His soothing voice speak to my heart and mind bringing calm and peace to my crazy life.
I had headed up to the pool one evening expecting to find loads of children playing and splashing while parents watched on. But... not this evening. It was a still quiet night at the pool. Not one child nor parent to be found; nor did any wander up.
So I sat and sat, with dangled feet in the pool as the stillness and the quiet surrounded me; that the Lord had offered this late afternoon early evening.
As I sat I looked around and listened and wondered why it was so still for me at this pool side when it is usually full of laughter and joy of children and families sharing family times together.
As time ebbed away I just sat as the late afternoon Summer breeze brushed across my face. It was as though Lord was kissing me and telling me everything is going to be okay my child, I'm here with you. You are not alone.
Then I noticed the life preserver hanging on the fence. Hmmm..... Jesus is my life preserver!
Then I saw the hook and net.
Yes!
He will hook me up and draw me in as a sheep that has fallen. Use His net to fish me when I drowning.
I'm His and He wont let me fall with out picking me up. He wont let me drown when the waters feel like they are over taking me. He is my life preserver.
He said He would never leave me. He would walk this with me.
He sent His son.
He left His comforter.
I am not alone!
Reach up and look up.
For He has given me everything I will ever need and more.
As I sat at the pool side and listened and watched with amazed eyes and wonder.
It is going to be okay!
He has worked out every detail and is walking side by side with me.
He has given me this peace and shown me rest in a place that is usually filled with laughter and joy.
But... tonight with His sweet presence to show me He is God!
Through the tools of the pool.
Thank you Lord for showing me your perfect love near the still waters.

POETRY PICNIC WK 2 : The Kiss

We have a fun little prompt from our friends over at "The Gooseberry Garden" Jingle Poetry. Lots of wonderful writers and poems linked up with the great prompts. Please go check them out.

So this weeks prompt is:

The first kiss of
Stolen moments of innocents
Lovely tender moments
Gentle butterfly kisses
Lips so soft and tender
As a soft fragrant rose petal
In mid Summer's day
Awkward moments of
First experience linger
Of the first kiss
Simple beauty so genuine
Full of emotions and passions unknown
The look that says
Yes!
Twinkle and giggles of sure pleasure
Dreams and hopes of the next captured kiss
Innocents held in the soft gentle kiss
Of the one's first love

~Beth~

Do you have fond memories of your first kiss?

More of Silver Falls, Oregon

A walk through the park
Is the happiness I feel
As I stroll hand in hand with my Lord
The joyfulness's
The happiness
As a child at play
While running and playing among the trees
The beauty engulfs me
The peace that comes from the tranquil beauty
Hand painted by my Lord
The beauty of nature
Brings such goodness to a soul
The beauty and peace
So rich in His love
Each moment
A sweet breathe of His love to me

A Summer romance
Frolicking the country side
Dancing in the moonlight
Summer ends
Surprise!
Turns into
I'm pregnant!
What was to be cherished memories
Of snapshots of a Summers love
Turns into a tiny new life
That will bind us forever
A Summer romance
Turns into a romance of a life time
No longer a Summer love of cherished memories
But snapshots of
This tiny life
That is you and me
A romance of a life time
This Summer love

This photo along with many others that I will be sharing in the days ahead where taken on my hike at Silver Falls, up by Salem, Oregon.
I was only able to hike a portion of it.
I missed four of the major Falls.
Gives me a good reason to go back and do some more hiking.
I love going for hikes.
I really wasn't prepared for this one.
But...
I will be next time.

Tears

Tears

Tear stained cheeks
Burn with a heart that is broken
From a lost love
As I sit here
I think
Tears flow
I listen
To the music of the love
I once knew
That is now lost
I try to find it
As the tears trickle down
They cover me
In the sorrow and pain
Of the love I lost
Tears flow
As the memories wash over me
I wish things were different
But time has ebbed away
Seconds into minutes
Minutes into hours
The days into months
The months turn into years
The tears flow
They have turned into the
Seconds, minutes
Hours, and days
That have turned into the passing years
The loss so deep
A stinging pain cut deep within
Tears flow
I wonder
Where has the time gone
I just want to catch one minute
Hold tight the love
As the flood of tears wash over me
The sting of the stain
Upon the lost love
I hang onto each memory
As though it was the last
Tears trickle down
Hanging on to the dream of the love
That once was
Praying it wont fade away
A memory no more
The tears in my heart ache
With pain that is daunting
Nothing will subside it
As the tears flow from the heart
Drenching the tear stained cheeks

~Beth~

Do you have memories that cause you to sit and cry and remember times gone by wishing they were still here?

Up ~ Date On Fall

Thursday was a very full and crazy day.
I went and spoke with management before I left for Salem about the fall I took on the property and make sure they had received all the communication that I had left from the night of the fall. Yes! they did!
So on to Salem to take my test so I could get my license for cosmetology. That didn't go so well. I didn't have the right identification. So I will be going back on Monday to get the licence and take the test! Bummer!
So then I tried to eat something. Not so easy. I had a small bit of soup and milk shake. I guess I will loss  a lot of weight this way. Then off to the dentist then after wards to the ER. Oh what a very long day. I have to go back to dentist on Wednesday nest week. Not good with the teeth. My hand is messed up with serve muscle and tissue bruising. Not good for a hairdresser. Cervical to the neck from falling face first . Huge clown nose fat lip. Not a beauty for sure NOW! Laughing as I cannot think of anything else to do. Pain is bad. I will be picking up all three prescriptions tomorrow and looking for a lawyer. Oh what fun! Still need to get my glasses taken care of as well.  They really got all scratched up and arm whacked out. All this over the darn side walk. As I have up dates i will let you know. Please pray. I'm hoping this will go smoothly and that they will pay for this medical and dental work as my hubby is concerned with all the trouble we have had here. Thank you for your continued and on going prayers and love of encouragement.

Finger Print Friday ~ Silver Falls Water Reflections

Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of god
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of god
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of god

So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them? Here's how to join in.

1. Blog with your interpretation of God's fingerprints. Be sure to link back Beki over at The Rusted Chain  http://www.blog.therustedchain.com/  so others can find the entire list of participants!

When on my hike this past Sunday at Silver Falls, I got some really awesome shots of the refection's in the water of the trees and sky.
I was truly amazed at the capture of beauty I got on the camera.
I love them all and couldn't pick out one of my favorites at all.
The beauty of the reflection is so amazing to me.
The light, color shades of beauty!
Just shows the amazing handy work and shades and colors of beauty that the Lord has created for us.
Nothing better than going out into the world of beauty around us and seeing all the Lord has blessed us with daily in His creation.

Where Are All The Children?

Where are all the children
The laughter
The tears
All the chatter
All the fighting
Where all the the children
The playing
The sleeping
All the make believe
All the dreams in slumber land
Where are all the children
The little miracles
The future of our tomorrows
All the wonders of ourselves
All the dreams I didn't fulfill
Where are all the children
All the love of all the children

~Beth~

This poem was wrote in the early 80's. I don't have the exact date of write on this paper.
But I know I do somewhere. As I had made several copies of this poem.
It is a poem I wrote for my daughters when they where with their father.
As you see I had great pain and loss during this time period of my life.
Writing was very therapeutic to me.
It still is.
My home felt so empty without the girls in it.
My arms the love I longed for.
The love I felt I was missing out on.
I still think of that pain and loss still today at times.
Time that can never be re-captured.

Thank you Lord for showing me and filling me with the Love that only you can give.
For your healing and restoration.
Thank you for the love of my daughters and the grandchildren.
My arms and home will never be empty because of the love you have given me.
Each one fills me with much joy and happiness.
Thank you for these gifts and miracles of life and love.
My daughters and each grandchild that fills my heart to over flowing!

Have you had moments of emptiness's that you couldn't bare?

Fall On August 24, 2011 (Face Dive)

Face dive on the cement yesterday! Oh the pain is unbelievable! My teeth hurt so much. They were shoved up into the gums. I will need to see a dentist for sure. My left hand is so swollen I can hardly use it. The pain I'm in today in horrible. I will be reporting in person the accident to the management. I did send email called left voice message, as well as dropped a note in the mail drop with pictures so that they know what happened since it happened after hours. It happened around 6:30-6:45 pm in the evening thank goodness for great neighbors! I have given a written complaint about this area before. My girlfriend has fallen here as well. I feel like I jinxed myself. Oh well! praise the Lord I will heal. Its my mouth and teeth I'm most concerned about. Prayers are needed. Thank you for you prayers love and encouragement. I will keep you all posted. AS I tried to eat last evening and I cannot . I may loss lots of weight this way. Not the way i would like too. I m so grateful that I didn't break any bones and that my nose didn't turn both eyes black and blue. Such a beauty! So when I get back from Salem today I will have the wonderful job of finding a dentist and some help on this fall. My thought is when you fall don't fall on cement and slide across it with your face. And if you think I look bad you should see the other guy! Trying to have a great sense of humor over this.
