Finger Print Friday~ A Good~Bye

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it’s true
You’re a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

Where do you see God's Fingerprints in your life? This week? This year? Today? In your kids, the sunset, a friend, prayers answered? Check out Becki over at The Rusted Chain for more links to other Fingerprint Fridays!

This lovely lady is Phyllis.
She was my regular Friday morning 9:30 am appointment.
If I came in early and had another lady in the chair it was rather funny!
The ladies love getting in early and they do tend to fight over who is first in the chair.
Phyllis was always there like clock work.
She always had a bit of "plush brown" rinse put in her hair.
She would always say; "Just a little I think I'm going to let the natural color come on through."
I would giggle and put some rinse on.
She loved the Lord with all of her heart.
She would pray for me and the ladies and everyone in the building.
She would be concerned about others and their standing with the Lord.
She wanted everyone to now Him the way she did.
She was a spinster who lived with her older sister.
She had come down after her hair appointment two weeks ago and said I need to get my hair done on Wednesday is that okay?
Well... of course it is.
She was so excited!
She had friends coming to help celebrate her sisters birthday that Friday that I usually do her hair.
She waited patiently that Wednesday as I squeezed her in between a few other ladies in the late morning.
She was all smiles and delight.
And extremely grateful that I could fit her in between the others awaiting their appointments.
Friday came and went quickly for me that week.
I missed her smiling face.
But got to go home early as there wasn't many ladies to groom this day.
Then last week...
I hear everyone speaking about the little lady who went home to be with the Lord.
Who...?
Then I realized they were talking about my beautiful Phyllis.
That Friday that she was to celebrate her sisters birthday; she wasn't feeling well.
They took her to the hospital.
Shortly after her sister went home; Phyllis, went home to celebrate her new birthday with the Lord.
She is now dancing with the angels before the Lord.
I will miss her as many will.
I know her sister is loss with out her.
Isn't it wonderful to know that we will all meet again and that we don't grieve as the world does.
My job sometimes is very hard when I have to say goodbye to these lovely ladies.
I never know if they are moving to more advance care or heading home to dance with the angels and sing before the Lord.
A home coming for them.
A hole in our hearts here on this earth until we meet again in heaven.
Either way they have left their finger prints upon my heart and in my salon.
Their time slot will be filled with another.
But their presence and life will be missed.
Phyllis brought her own style of sunshine into my life and into my shop.
Just as each one does with their personalities and many facets of life styles.
Some touch me more than others.
She is one that I will miss on Friday mornings.
I am so glad the Lord brought Phyllis into my life.
I knew I could always count on her prayers and love of encouragement.
So this "Finger Print Friday"
It is a memory and honor of a special lady who left her prints upon my heart.
I love you Phyllis and will miss you greatly.
May you rest in peace, as you dance and sit before the Father.
I will see you in GLORY!

SWEET BEULAH LAND
Music and words by Squire E. Parsons, Jr., 1979

I'm kind of homesick for a country
To which I've never been before;
No sad goodbyes will there be spoken,
And time won't matter any more.
Beulah land ... I'm longing for you,
And, some day, on thee I'll stand;
There my home shall be eternal.
Beulah land ... sweet Beulah land.
I'm looking now across the river
Where my faith will end in sight;
There's just a few more days to labor,
And then I'll take my heavenly flight.
Beulah land ... I'm longing for you,
And, some day, on thee I'll stand;
There my home shall be eternal.
Beulah land ... sweet Beulah land.

Do you have an old hymn favorite from days gone by?

Hi Bethe. I am so sorry to hear that Phyllis passed away, but how wonderful that she went to meet the Lord with her hair looking lovely! She obviously made quite an impression on you. I do think it is rather lovely that you make all these elderly ladies feel good and that they still want to look good. Good for them and may you long continue doing the work you do. Happy weekend my friend.

So sorry for your loss Beth. I think sometimes God sends special people into our life to fill us with joy and happiness. Like you said she is with the Lord now. I love that song, it has always been one of my favorites...Susie

After she was so excited at greeting the Lord, I bet she said...and then God said, "Phyllis, I already know what you are going to say and yes, you can be one of the first to greet Bethe when she comes home too."
What a sweet post, Bethe. You have such a gentle spirit!
